Kuwaiti Athletes Featured in Washington Post

athletes

Washington Post have an article on muslim female athletes and Kuwaiti athletes are featured prominently in it. It’s an interesting article that highlights the struggle muslim female athletes go through in the Arab world but it also kind of shows how liberal Kuwait is (or can be). Kuwaiti athletes won’t be able to participate at the Rio Olympics this year under the Kuwaiti flag due to the ban imposed on Kuwait by the IOC, but I believe there will be a number of Kuwaiti female athletes competing (Faye Sultan is confirmed), I’m just still waiting to get the final list so I can share it. Here is the link to the Washington Post [Article]

Russia was implicated in a massive doping scandal on a governmental scale, and they don’t don’t have a total ban on Russia competing. Yet Kuwait is banned from every single thing, even international chess association. WTF?!?! That’s some complete and total bullshit and shows you how dirty and corrupt those international sporting organizations are. FIFA level corruption is the norm!!

deporting people over driving without license and spoiling the “green” environment

forming a separate unit “POLICE ENVIRONMENTAL”
etc. etc.

copy your words against FIFA and paste em over here as well ^^

I wasn’t trying to say that this country has decent laws or isn’t corrupt. But compare the punishment for Russia and Kuwait and try to make any sense of that.

I really hope we have some actual athletes competing. Wth all due my respect to shooting players, I want to see Kuwaiti athletes that involve some physical exertion

I think a half Ironman triathlon requires quite a bit of physical exertion…and that’s what the Jeraiwi sisters are into…I hope they’re going…
