No More Wataniya Airways

After getting their operation suspended back in September, the civil aviation authority have now pulled the license for Wataniya Airways. They were originally suspended because of recurring flights’ delays and cancellations and were given three months to get their act together. Seems like they weren’t able to do that so for the second time in the airline’s history, they’ve had to shut down.

This is pretty disappointing news since Wataniya Airlines were flying to some interesting destinations and more competition in the market is always a good thing. [Link]

I doubt you would be able to get anything back from the airline. If you were insured, then that company may compensate your losses if this situation is covered. But considering most people here don’t get travel insurance, I doubt you’re insured. Good luck 🙁

Sad to hear.
I had a nice trip to Georgia with Watania Airways in may ( 2Hrs something flight time DIRECT ), which was on time. However, returning back it was delayed for 2 hours.

I don’t get it, that company went bankrupt in 2010 and i lost two tickets after that.

Was it operational again since that date?

Our last flight with them delayed for 7hrs. I am glad that they are not operating anymore. However I’ll miss flying direct to neighbouring countries without having to transit in DXB,AUH or DOH or to enjoy “premium dry” Kuwait Airways..
