Man Killed Over a PlayStation

Some of you might have already seen the video above of a fight taking place on the streets of Hawalli where a person gets run down and killed by a driver of a pick-up truck. According to Arab Times the fight was over a Sony PlayStation:

The deceased was hit and killed with a pick-up driven by a Kuwaiti youth in the course of a fight between a group of Kuwaitis and Egyptian nationals at the commercial complex. The prime suspect who’s in his 20s admitted knocking the late Egyptian down with a vehicle in an attempt to free his friend during a fight over KD 19 price difference of a Play Station. [Source]

The original news report stated the fight started in Rehab Complex and that’s what I had originally heard as well but, the video shows the fight taking place in front of Al-Muhallab Mall. How did the fight end up all the way there? Also, I had originally heard the fight was over a game and not a PlayStation console, specifically the new Call of Duty: Black Ops III game.

People in Kuwait really need to calm down. Like seriously, go to the beach, listen to some music and be thankful of everything you have. How much shitty can your life be that you have to resort to anger and violence and kill a father, a son, a brother or a friend of someone.

Be thankful, be humble. And say Alhamdulillah.

lack of education, morals and exccessive money leads to this. Forgetting what is a human being and what we should be.

Thats worse than animals. And sad part will be that the kuwaiti will be freed surely after couple of months because the other side is an expat.

It wasn’t over a Playstation, it was over a false sense of superiority and the inability to control one’s emotions. The youth here has some serious problems.

In general, I think we would have less violence if more people got laid.

من امن العقوبه اساء الادب

The guy who run over the deceased should be excecuted and made an example to everyone. But please, let’s not make this about Kuwaitis, the fight was between Kuwaitis AND Expats and the report said the the Expats involved were more than Kuwaitis.

Also, a while ago there was a fight in Kheitan were a bunch of Expats with sticks cornering what looked like a Kuwaiti guy and they beat the sh!t out of him. He ran across the street into a mall and a gang of Expats followed him with sticks and other weapons. Not sure if it was posted here, Mark?

It wasn’t posted because nobody was killed in that fight. Bunch of dicks fighting with a bunch of sticks is different than a person running over someone and killing them.

Two paragraphs, but one sentence about the guy who ran over someone over a game. Yeah bud, take a look at yourself in the mirror.

this IS about kuwaitis. Only Kuwaitis would have the gall – and HAVE had the gall in the past – to do things like this. But I fully agree with you. execute the motherfucker!

Here is some additional information from Kuwait Times:

KUWAIT: Five Kuwaitis and 16 Egyptians were in custody yesterday in connection with the raging brawl that resulted in the death of an Egyptian expat outside a shopping mall in Hawally on Saturday night, the Ministry of Interior’s Relations and Security Media Department said yesterday. The statement said investigations are currently underway and two Kuwaitis and ten Egyptians were arrested yesterday taking the total number of suspects to 21 for their involvement in the fight and the macabre killing that created a state of chaos in the area, terrifying passersby and blocking the traffic.

The department added that all technical methods were being pursued to identify the suspects involved in the crime and that those who violated laws and regulations would be punished.

Meanwhile, an Egyptian foreign ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zaid said that the Kuwaiti authorities had arrested the citizens involved in murdering the Egyptian during the fight in Hawally between Egyptians and Kuwaitis. He added that the deceased Egyptian’s corpse had already arrived in Egypt for burial.

Speaking on a television channel yesterday, Abu Zaid said that the Egyptian foreign ministry was following the investigations that are currently underway. He said the culprits would be punished for their crimes.

He denied any leniency on the side of the Kuwaiti authorities towards the culprits. “They have shown full cooperation”, he said pointing out that the Egyptian consulate in Kuwait managed to interfere in the matter and stop deportation of 14 Egyptians detained in connection with the fight on the grounds that both sides had violated the law and that an investigation was still in progress.

That is why I buy games digital. Just kidding. But seriously this has nothing to do with games or playstation. It has to do with short tempered ill mannered teens. Some news will try to make gaming to blame.

Racists should stuff crap up their throughts, if it was the Kuwaiti under that car with 28 Kuwaitis attacking 2 expats the Opinion of the racists would’ve still been the same;blaming the expat, whether he was Egyptian, Syrian, phillipino, Indian, etc.

As I always Say it all depends on the person.. If the person left his home expecting to have trouble and fight then it will eventually happen. As a Kuwaiti I faced many people who wanted to have a fight with me for no reason. If I was a short tempered Person I would be dead by now but I have a Brain so Use it and make things peaceful. nothing is worth fighting for and specially nothing is worth killing a soul for.

Stay positive enjoy life Take care all

unfortunately this is not an isolated incident, nor is it bound by geography or nationality. A few months ago it was Dubai where a person was struck down for the simple act of taking a selfie in a restaurant that infuriated a national who demanded the pics be deleted.

someone up there said it best,

من امن العقاب اساء الادب

Meaning, whoever guarantees the punishment will surely act badly. If you know you’re uncle or grandfather or whoever is connected and you can get away with anything, why act with civility?

the greatest shame is that our children are not being taught to be respectful. hate begets hate.

Ahh yes, the good old “Bring the United States into it” tactic. Because that’s what the topic is about, and an American wasn’t even involved. How pathetic!
