I posted my first blog post ever exactly 15 years ago to this day. It wasn’t on 248AM, I launched that two years later, it was on another blog called qHate. Back then I was still living with my parents, I was piss-ass broke and didn’t really know anyone in Kuwait. Crazy how that was just 15 years ago since a lot has happened over that time. It’s kinda scary when I think about where I’ll be 15 years from now, probably in L.A. working in the electronics section of a Walmart would be my best bet.
My computer setup back in 2003
There are dates that represent important moments in my life, I was born in 1978, 1988 was my first trip to L.A., the Gulf War in 1990, graduating from high school in 96 and so on.
2003 is when I started blogging.

Thanks for all the amazing post π
very curious, why don’t you just move to LA for good?
Iβm not ready for Walmart yet!
Out of curiosity why do you want to move to L.A?
I’ve got lots of family and friends there
Tell the truth Mark, its a more civilized country
Good luck Mark, where ever you decide to live.
15 Years and still the best Blog in Kuwait. Congrats!
Well its easy to be the best blog when everyone else moved to instagram and snapchat.
. you dont give your self enough credit.
Thank you
Also, youβre the only one that actually blogs!
Wonderful… Looking forward to 15 Years more of your posts.
Take Care and God Bless !!!
My best blog ever thanks a lot Mark for everything π
I wish they did blog/social media awards in Kuwait before you retire!
Even when we were all just a small handful of the very first Kuwaiti bloggers discussing politics, Kuwait and voicing our creative selves (way before the fashionista showoffs competing in their popularity contest), you were among the tiny group of the very first. In fact, I became a blogger in 2004 after reading QHate. I still remember some of your posts. I do have the fondest memories of the good old blogging days, in addition to some bad ones. You were, remarkably, the one who immediately knew how to develop, evolve, and make something more and bigger, grander, more concrete of your blog, not to mention smartly monetize it. It is heartening and inspiring to see how far you have come and it makes us old original Kuwaiti bloggers proud of you. The very best and fondest wishes, Mark!
Thank you Mark for all the informative, entertaining, and honest posts. You stand tall while other bloggers faded into obscurity.
#Thank_you_Mark
Seriously, I used to visit maybe 8 Kuwaiti blogs daily a few years ago if not more, now 248am is the only one left
I cannot even remember the names of the other ones
Congrats Mark!
Hey who’s that random dude in the first pic?
Mabrook btw π
originally was gonna post a picture of me from back in 2003, but then i was like fuck that shit, i don’t want that picture in my face when i open my blog.
As far as I’m concerned, this is the only blog which provides up to date information about events in Kuwait & much more. Thank you, well done & keep it up!
I hope to see the 30th anniversary!
Congrats on the milestone, thank you.
Congratulations and million thanks for all the informative as well as motivating posts…
Wish you all the best and many more anniversaries !!!
This is gonna make you feel old, but I started reading your blog when I was in high school in Kuwait in early 2000s. And now I’m married with a kid. This blog has been the only consistent source of info in Kuwait. I hope someday they do make you mayor of Salmiya, you’ve been more concerned about this place than anyone I’ve ever met. Cheers buddy.
And since then youβve been the been the best , You are the greatest addition to Kuwaitβs cultural and social scene ever. You have the abilty to make everything looks and feels interesting, You made culture and knowledge cool , you made us more attached to Kuwaitβs history . You loved Kuwait and you cared about as non of my fellow Kuwaiti citizens did and you tried to make Kuwait a more beautiful and a better place. The good news is that Kuwait is becoming a better place , many people may disagree but i can see it coming. As a kuwaiti citizen I want to say Thankyou Mark , you made a DIFFERENCE.
Thank you for not telling me to GTFO
Amen.

no idea why i had both a mac and pc running at the same time
I tell you why, because why the hell not!
Happy birthday 248am
Thanks Mark for this lovely blog hopefully you will add a section to see whatβs happening outside Kuwait through your eyes
Happy 15th! Glad you’re still around!
You have shown that you are capable of doing great things. Thanks for posting humble most posts for us π
Wow, a lot more to come inshallah !
My favorite posts of yours are life hacks and the best of them was ordering heavy stuff from Amazon UK and have it shipped directly to Kuwait. That was genius and it saved me a ton of money. Thanks man and keep on blogging.
My favorite post was when he blogged about his dog Geo farting and Mark almost killed himself
i don’t even remember that post. But speaking of Geo he’s currently in Canada playing in the snow! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEZnh0TtEgw
I thought I’d help you out and investigate through all old posts even if it took me a while, then all I did was type ‘fart’ in your search and this was the first one that came up: https://248am.com/mark/personal/death-by-fart/
Happy 15th BLOGanniversary!!! its been years now, my routine to do first thing in morning is to open mark248am1.wpenginepowered.com, before I start surfing anyother site… π

Congrats…not an easy task.. keeping a blog going for 15 years.
Keep up the good work!
Happy birthday!
2004 is when I started reading your blog, and the post about a lion on the run in Kuwait was the first post I ever read. Personally, I’d like to thank you for all the Salmiya nostalgic posts, as I spent half my life in that area. Walmart my ass, you’ll end up owning an organic version of Walmart and be friends with Kanye West or something like that. Keep the bold blogging, and I wish you all the best.
Congratulations Mark. I’m Glad to have met with you. Cars and Coffee Long due π
Keep it Up!!! … 10 more to go to make it silver jublee

I remember the first days of this blog. There were a lot of food involved. Although it’s mostly about Kuwait but I still enjoy some posts. It’s also great you’re not bored.
