I heart IKEA

The Kitchen

IKEA are over today installing my new kitchen. My experience so far with them has been really great. I think it was around 2 months ago when I first approached them about getting a kitchen and they quickly sent someone over to get the sizes. After that it was kind of a long process for the design since me and Nat kept changing things around until we finally settled on something we were both happy with. After that it was all about trying to keep the cost down as much as possible and we were able to chop around 25% of the cost by removing things we didn’t need and when we finally paid we used an NBK credit card and got another 10% off as vouchers which dropped the price down even further. The guys installing the kitchen are telling me they need two days to finish the installation but they’re pretty quick so I think they might end up finishing today.

Update: I guess I spoke too soon. Its not even 3PM and the guys were packing up to leave, they told me they had another kitchen at 3PM they needed to go to. I was like WTF? My kitchen is 80% done and I booked this day over 2 weeks ago how could you leave after half a days work? So I called their manager up and complained, I told him I took a day off work and the employees came in at 10 and they are now leaving at 3. I told him the kitchen is nearly done so I don’t understand why they can’t work a full day on it and get it completed. He told me they only work from 7 to 3:30, I told him if they did come in at 7 we would be done by now plus they told me they have another kitchen they have to go and work on. The manager asked to speak to one of the guys over at my place and when he was done I was told they would stay longer and try to get the kitchen done today.

So can you explain to me the reasoning behind remodelling the kitchen of an apartment that, I’m assuming, you don’t own in a super crappy economy?

If you do own your apartment, though, then: a) DAMN YOUUUUUU!; b) forget I said anything.

What did you tell the manager?

“This Kitchen is to be finished today .. or am gonna review your Ikea Shawerma by 8 oclock tomorow morning! ” πŸ˜›

I hope the title or your post is sarcastic because if i was you i would still be pissed they put you in this stupid position in the first place.

I swear they just make up these dumb rules as they go. the one time i ordered a recliner from them it wouldn’t fit inside the elevator boxed. they called me to tell me this (i was at work) so i told them to remove the box and they said they can’t for some stupid reason. then they took it up the stairs but stopped halfway and called me saying they can’t take it up to the 6th floor because “company policy” says they cannot lift shit up past the 3rd floor in any building!!!!

I knew what the fucker really meant, so i had to ask my friend at the house to pay them another 5 KD on top of the already stupid official IKEA delivery cost to finally get the damn thing delivered. 7alawat el delivery ya basha…

the funny thing is that the same delivery cunt called me days later asking if i needed anything to be moved because he runs his own moving company on the side and just contracts with IKEA. What a joke.

I told you soo…. they did the same to me…but I didnt complain…Anyway you will love the kitchen when it is done… IKEA is good stuff..and if you need to move you can take it with you. I tottaly understand also why you did it, bc my God the kitchen they install in Kuwait for rentals is not for cooking.

what was originally installed in my kitchen was probably the cheapest and ugliest kitchen ever created. I barely used my kitchen, hated it. Now I can’t wait to start baking πŸ˜›

well, my experience was bad with them as well.

the measures for the cabinet where wrong and installation was never completed, plus they had to use my drill cause theirs weren’t working.
