I’m leaving to Bangkok in the middle of the night for a work related trip. I’ve got to be at the airport at 3:30AM which sucks. Its like the worst timing so I am going to try and go to sleep at 10PM so at least I would have some shut eye. Things I am looking forward to doing in Thailand:
1) The $200 burger
2) Midget Kick Boxing
3) Ride a scooter
4) Eat a deep fried bug
5) Forensic Museum (Museum of Death)
6) Sky Train
Any other fun things to do in Thailand?

Timings like this that mess-up my sleep cycle when I’m traveling.
Next month I’m going to the US and my flight is around the same time (take off 4AM). The timing sucks big time not to mention that it’s a non-stop 15 hours flight and I’m the type of person that can’t sleep on board.
I can’t sleep so thats why I’ve got my entertainment pack with me..
1) PSP
2) Nintendo DS
3) Ipod Video with Season 4 of The Wire and Season 2 of Boston Legal
4) Asus Eee
5) Latest WIRED magazine
Ok .. dont do our mistake and spend all your money shopping inside Thailand .. if you are planning to buy something nice and expensive, Wait till you are leaving the country and hit the duty free in the airport. Every single designer you can imagine,( LV, GUCCI, HERMES, ZEGNIA, BURBERRY .. and much much more, all the good stuff with tax free tags.
If you get hungry in the airport dont miss the beautiful resturant in the airport Sky Laounge or Sky ..something i dont remember, seriously its the most amazing foor we ate in all Phucket.

Chatuchuk (Also known as JJ) the largest open market in the world and has EVERYTHING
Vertigo :(on top of the banyan tree hotel) the nicest (even though not highest in asia anymore) but still the classiest outdoor rooftop bar in Bangkok
BEDsupperclub: the coolest club (and whitest club in BKK) but dont forget curfew which is at 2:30
Silom Discovery mall: make sure you go to the PROPAGANDA store, you would never have believed that these funky designs were thai, especially when you found these products all over the world (check out the website to get an idea of what im talking about http://www.propagandaonline.com ) and the rest of the mall is great (EVG Cinema is amazing and the gold class is the definitive VIP cinema)
go to the floating market is a must (but go early in the morning as in like EARLY and its great )

Maybe you should go on boat trips, tuktuks, bikes, floating markets, Chatuchak (weekend only market)

You could visit Chatuchak Weekend Market; the legendary Khao San road; there’s also the Pratunam wholesale market and Pantip Plaza and the Platinum Fashion Mall which are all within the same area… best thing about the Pratunam area is that there’s plenty of strret food, including deep fried bugs right in front of Pantip. For classier (read pricey) shopping, try Siam Paragon.
Every time someone tells me they are off to Bangkok on work I just crack up. Honestly, don’t know why – I just do.

Was there hardly a month ago. Nice place for shopping. But was there for only 4 days ( Bangkok ). the only thing which i could do was get a decent foot message. Put up in hotel ambassador in sukhumvit. did the sky train, which was a refreshing break from the stifling traffic. Managed to buy a chinese made ( excellent quality/decent price ) vacuum tube cd player. Kids ( my young daughter & my parents & my in law ) had a great time in the fantasy land ( open air zoo / with sea lion, orang utang thai boxing, polar bear shows ). wife had fun in the shopping malls prantip plaza & platinum mall ). lots to shop in the night market ( forgot the exact place name ) & also on the sukhomvit road, which is a paradise for cheap souveniers.
