No more dumpsters

Last month I posted about how trucks were coming and dumping garbage in the empty sand lot behind my house. Well luckily that stopped but they also removed the garbage bins that were there. Now everyone is just throwing the trash in a large pile. It’s pretty gross. I understand they’re going through a transition phase between two different garbage contractors but that shouldn’t be an excuse to remove dumpsters.

Now according to a reader who faced a similar issue, he called the baladiya hotline which is 139 and within an hour they had the garbage cleaned up. I’m going to give them a call tomorrow and see how effective that is.

Yup,, they are going through a transition. They changed the dumpsters near my house. The new ones
( aluminium I guess) are sturdier than the plastic ones they had earlier. And the clean-up act is much better. I hope it stays the way it is.

abbassiya area , you must visit and take pictures , there the situation is much worst even after the new contracted company has taken over,

I heard there’s a dumping ground similar to the one in Salmiya in this location. I live near street 6 and most of the dumpsters have been cleared but some of the interior areas are still in a messed up condition.
Check your email, I’m sending the Google maps link.

There are big problems in Restaurant St parking lot. They cleared once after weeks and weeks but Platinium Gym continues to dump rubbish etc there.

There’s nothing wrong with trash like that. In fact, i wish more countries would adopt our unique approach to this problem.

Hey Mark! You gota check this out.. “CLEAN ABBASIYA PROJECT”.. it’s a pity that certain individuals must take up the responsibility for a clean neighborhood…

It’s a pity that Indian families will shove 4 families into an apartment made for 1, have excess trash because of this, then say WHY IS ABBASSIYA DIRTY

it is still the responsibility of the government to make sure that 4 families are not allowed to live in an apartment designed for 1 family… the bottom line is that the local governing authority (the municipality, planning department etc..) is still at fault..

@ aaa

did you verify personally, whatever you have said above ??

10 years ago tallest building was 5 – 6 floors one, today you will find just few building which are just 6 floor tall, 80-90% building is 10-12 floor tall, do you have any idea how the drainage system will function, which was made for 3-4 floored buildings of that area, where should the tenants throw the garbage

Just because few people have posted add doesn’t mean everyone is sharing there flat, As you have read the adds column, dod you see add only from Abbasiya, if not, why other areas don’t face problems as Abbasiyans do ? any idea ??

if not read my previous reply to understand the actua problem

Check today’s add just for refernce, you will find more from Khaitan, Mahboula.. kindly explain why other areas not facing the same problem..

Muncipality has to either renovate the drainage system or stop issuing permits to construct new buildings

+1000 for aaa. No matter what but the people are to be blamed. I have seen some people play basketball with their trash and stand far away and throw their trash, if its in then its fine or else walkaway….

I just looked outside and noticed the garbage bins are back and there’s no more trash on the floor. Not sure if anyone called them or what exactly.

It’s a “If I litter someone will/should pick it up” mentality in Kuwait. This whole place is a dump in my opinion.
