Packing

I am getting ready to leave to London. Unlike most trips I am trying to take as little stuff as I can with me since my hotel room will be tiny and has no storage space whatsoever. Electronics wise I am taking my iPhone, MSI Wind netbook, Sony W300 camera and my iPod. For my in-flight entertainment I am loaded with stuff. I have season 1 of Mad Men, Supernatural, Star Trek The Next Generation and Battlestar Galactica. I’ve also got a few episodes of Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares (US and UK versions), some old Stalone movies like Tango & Cash, Victory, Lock Up and Nighthawks and some newer movies like W and Doubt and finally, all the Harry Potter movies since I haven’t watched a single one of them yet. I can’t wait to get there.

WTF? HARRY POTTER? Mark what’s wrong with u? and oh btw the flight isn ‘t that long. those movies and shows will last you forever.

Hit up the new Westfeild mall while your there, it’s designed by the same guy who did the avenues apperently only it’s like 1000times nicer and has EVERYTHING! Haha seriously

liliuokalani: I take a lot with me so if i get bored from a genre i just swap. Before I used to just take The Wire but I sadly finished all the seasons 🙁

IS-F Man: dude you are the second person today to tell me to visit westfield mall, how weird is that?

Mark, You should try this place: Hummingbird in south kensington. It’s close to the Lamborghini dealership. You will have the best cupcakes ever!

ooopps 😉 So please try this new place called “hache” on Fulham Road ( Chelsea- South Kensington.
–> It’s supposed to be one of the best Hamburger place in London. They have good reviews everywhere. And I did like it 🙂

Why are people recommending going to a shopping mall? Of all the things you can do in London, people are coming up with that! It isn’t Kuwait you know.

Markie :

Do make the time to catch some off-beat cinema at the ICA, just off the MALL near Buckingham Palace ( http://www.ica.org.uk)
nearest tube : Piccadilly Circus. Be sure to check out the ICA bookstore.
And I say hi! to the usher at the Barbican for me 🙂

and the Balti chicken’s on me. Also do drop in at “Fopp” near Covent Garden for your DVD and music need.

no no no…. London.. it’s busy, overcrowded, unfriendly people and expansive

i highly recommand anyone who goes to the UK to at least visit the north espacially Newcastle!!! (london v2.1)

I find London quite boring & overrated, no offence. I recommend that you guys try Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Blackpool, Edinburgh and Cardiff instead. You’ll see! At least you won’t find GCC citizens staring at you just because you’re from the gulf. Once you go beyond London, you’ll see that people are more laid back. However, don’t expect the locals to have the friendly spirit of the Americans and Canadians.

Just an opinion.

I agree with earlier commentators; there’s more to England than just Greater London. I fell in love with the Lake District (Cumbria) and the Scottish Highlands in and around Edinburgh when I first visited the area in 1998 and there’s been no looking back. Someday, I hope to have my own cottage in Keswick or Windermere where I can enjoy the great outdoors – book in hand, sipping my Darjeeling.
