something something Blog Anniversary something something

Today is my blogs 14th anniversary (maybe 15?) and around a week back it was my 16th anniversary (or was it 17th?) since I first started blogging. 2018 might have been the most stress-free year for me blogging-wise. I decided to kinda take a very chill approach to the blog, and not pressure myself as much where I have to post 2 or 3 times every day. If I have something to post I’ll post, if not I won’t. I know it sucks for you but I really am getting too old for this πŸ˜….

I’ve mentioned this before but it is a lot of pressure having to constantly try and find stuff to write about every day, it’s also really difficult to do when I have a job, a social life and a lot of days where I just want to sit on my couch, watch a TV show and not leave the house.

Last month I started a new job and it’s taking up so much of my time so I don’t know how 2019 is going to turn out. I’m trying to wake up at 7AM every day to get the posting out of the way, and so far it seems like its working. Surprisingly (to me), this is probably the first time in a while where I’m not considering stopping the blog. I realized that the blog helps me stay current and active, so even with my busy work schedule, I’ll keep finding time for it especially now that I’m putting less pressure on myself.

Anyway, that’s all.

Oh wow!! 14 years! Happy anniversary Mark. Just wanted to say that we appreciate all the work you put for this blog. I usually start my day with this.

Firstly congratulations on so many years being a vital resource for the citizens of the country and a partner to all your readers in their daily lives.

I wish you would get some official recognition for your efforts towards promoting Kuwait and helping all local communities

I wanted to suggest you making an online how o blog course for side income? Or a Classroom course ,

Could you find somebody to mentor to eventually take off some pressure ?

And maybe a very easily acessable box or tab on the side, or a Whatsapp number for people to drop some stuff that you might find interesting

Happy anniversary & Thank you Mark!!!

well congratulations mark and its not the number of years that matter, its what we all got in all these years from this blog that really matters and that matters a lot. for me this blog means opening it over my morning tea and checking whats new in terms of posts or comments πŸ˜› would love to keep seeing more of this blog in the future also… thank you for everything

Thanks for all the effort that you put in. I usually start my day with this as well. Started reading your blog when I was still in school.

Congratulations!

Started reading your blog 9 years ago. Don’t know where I’d be without it! I check your blog daily and it’s one of my favourite routines. Happy anniversary!

Happy Anniversary Mark.. Been reading your blog a good 12 years now. Like Sha I also check in your blog early in the morning. Used be coffee and the news now its coffee , 248 and then the world πŸ™‚

Happy Blogversary, buddy!

Even though I don’t comment as much (and when I do, I mostly argue with people, which is the most pointless thing in the world lol) I actually check your blog pretty regularly.

The first time I ever heard of Magic Rooftop Movie Night (or whatever it was called) was actually through your blog and I went there with a friend who was visiting from the States and we had a blast! Also, as much shit people give you for the “fluff” pieces, your food recs are always on point!

Nobody can please everyone but your blog truly does have something for everyone! Lastly, good on you for hanging in there, when so many others just up and quit.

Keep up the awesome work!

Congratulations on 15 years of bloggin! I’m sure i speak for everyone on here when I say Thank you for keeping all of us upto date with all the goings on around the country and giving us a one stop source to check for post of the events and companies everyone’s interested in. Glad you have reconsidered and aren’t thinking of sopping anytime soon. Congratulations on the new job too and Good Luck!!

Great job, Mark! 248am has become a Kuwait institution. It seemingly has an archive of more info on Kuwait than any other site I’ve found and usually comes up in searches on a huge range of topics, from the ridiculous to the sublime. Not only that, but it is also maybe the best place to really see a cross-section of people’s thoughts, ideas and opinions on all these topics.

I’m grateful for all your hard work over the years :))) Thank you.

Happy Anniversary!

This blog is the translation of “sustainability is key”

Anyone else would’ve been bored in the 2nd year it went live. The fact that you didn’t, and it’s been 15 years! is just the fuel to your productivity. It’s one of the first things I check every morning when I get to work, it introduced me to hidden gems in Kuwait, kept me updated on everything going around us and it’s just simply informative and entertaining.

Keep it going!

Time is just flying….

Congratulations and Celebrations !!! Wishing you the very best and looking forward to your posts everyday.

Much Love and God Bless !!!

What time do you go to bed? You know what you need…cats. They’ll get you up in plenty of time to get shizzle done, no matter if you went to bed at 10pm or 3am!

you need to try getting up at 4am like Casey neistat did. You won’t believe the amount of stuff you can get done before leaving for work.

Dont stop your blog has been my daily routine for the past 5 years even if am on vacation.

Much love and keep going !

Hey Mark! Congratulations!!
I started reading your blog a few months ago and it helped me A LOT! I got a better understanding of Kuwait and the people. The events, some I couldn’t have gone to/known if not for your posts!
So, I’m really thankful and grateful!
I guess I’ve just commented once? but I’m an avid reader of your blog! <3
P.S. I became a Galaxy Juice fan because of you ^_^

Congratulations!

I used to read your blog almost daily during my stay in Kuwait.
I have relocated but continue to read it on and off to know whats happening. Thank you for sharing and putting all the efforts.
Love your blog!

Hi mark I want to congratulate you in putting a monumental effort in bringing up new topics and making a list of things to do in the weekend in kuwait…. Which is where my planning starts and ends… Your contribution in kuwait update is obvious in Google search where the result suggests to look up in your blog.. And what not to say your 15-16 years of continuation which shows your passion.. I love your narration and photos. Kudoos once again.. And celebrate the occasion

Happy anniversary ma man! Question regarding the blog (which you might’ve answered hundreds of times on different occasions), where does the “248am” come from? and what does it really mean? would be nice to have some origin story of how that name came about :p

Mark, u haven’t posted anything about KMT? They’re holding their first drag championship (under BMRC) this week. Test & Tune is tonight and tomorrow, qualifying is 21st and elimination 22nd.

Happy Anniversary Mark! I’ve been a fan of your blog for a decade now, all the way back to my highschool days at AIS. Even though I’m always oveeseas,I’m glad I can keep with whats going on in Q8. Keep up the good work!

i check your blog every day for the past (16?) years.
Good luck.

Do a weekly guest posts. Can be a story/review/educational etc.

Congrats Mark and I hope you keep going with full of energy. You switched us on and provided us with exceptional events in Kuwait. I support you, Mark πŸ˜‰

Happy anniversary!

Tbh I don’t mind the less content, as long as the site is still maintained with interesting stuff I’ll be happy.

Happy Anniversary Mark its awesome and I thank you Deeply for entertaining us the whole time and wish you best of luck in upcoming years health and wealth my friend Cheers.

Hey Mark,
Congrats on your anniversary!
I have been reading your blog ever since you started and reading it is part of my daily routine..
Thank you so much and keep it going please!!!

People may not agree to some of the contents / opinions of this blog, but it has become an essential part of life in Kuwait.

A lot of people will be quite upset if you decide to permanently stop. And i’m pretty sure that plays a fundamental role in the pressure you feel. There is no doubt you also enjoy blogging, and you’re very good at it.

This is a safe place for people to share opinions and rant if they feel like it. And we all know there is plenty of that. That is the beauty of it.

So keep going strong.

P.S. If you ever decide to stop, do it gradually so you’re typo police and grammar nazis don’t go cold turkey.

Bro! The work you do is amazing.

Left Kuwait ages ago… but despite being miles away in the corner of the world your site is what I hop onto to see what is happening in Kuwait!

Keep it up.
