Amazon Remembers Service

Amazon Remembers

If you have an iPhone I highly recommend you get the Amazon app. Along with a fast and easy to use search feature, Amazon have included an amazing service called Amazon Remembers. Say while over at your friends place or while out shopping you found something you’re interested in, maybe its a CD, or a TV or as in my case a book, all you need to do is snap a picture of the item with the iPhone and the Amazon app uploads it online where a community of people research your photo and try to find the same product on Amazon.com. I just tried it now with a book I was interested and by the time I got home I had already received an email with a link to the product on Amazon.

Update: Just for the fun of it I took a picture of my dog eating his bone with the app and it got sent to Amazon. A few minutes later I got an email back pointing me towards a dog bone on Amazon! Amazing stuff, they’ve got a great sense of humor!!

@Mathai
Sony Ericsson phones have this app called TrackID which records part of a song you listen to on the radio and identifies it from its online library

Mathai,

What grg said, I tried it here in Kuwait,, it works brilliantly. Some of my friends say it works with arabic songs as well.

hi mark
can u give me the link to download the amazon app cuz every time i log in into amazon.com they send me to itunes and itunes tells me that this app is not available in Kuwait so please help!!
thanks

Hey mark, I tried to install it and it says “could not be verified” when I sync it with Itunes. Any idea what’s going on?

On my Google G1 phone I have a near similar app called ‘ShopSavvy’, not sure if it exists for the iPhone though. This app can scan a barcode through the phone’s camera and in a few seconds will come back with all the websites that sells this product and their selling price, it will also show you any reviews and will alert you if there’s a price change. Its pretty amazing, and the app is nominated for best mobile app of 2008 in this year’s Crunchies awards (ceremony on Jan 9).
