Borderlinx is a service in which they provide you with a US and UK forwarding mailbox so you could shop online. It’s similar to Aramex’s Shop and Ship except Borderlinx works with DHL. One of the major complaints about Borderlinx was the fact you had to pick up the packages yourself but now that’s no longer the case since they’ve just started delivering. Plus, while Shop and Ship keep increasing the prices, Borderlinx recently announced a price cut and some of their shipments are now %30 cheaper. I knew it !!! when they sent me an email regarding my package there was a link where it says: where to ship in Kuwait but the guy in Khalijiya told me that it not true !
Where does is say that they have %30 cut?
I don’t see the 30% cut either I went to the calculator and assumed a shipping weight of 70Kg and compared it with Shopandship.com and they are roughly the same.

Uhh, that means Borderlinx prices are now 30% cheaper than THEIR OWN PRICES PRIOR TO THE PRICE CUT.
Aramex is still cheaper, even with DHL 30% only on 0.5KG!
I will still go with SNS for now.
Aramex has always been cheaper right from the start. But there are other advantages to DHL.
1) Based in Ohio so you don’t pay the 8% tax. So if you’re purchasing say a the new Retina display Macbook. If you shipped it to Aramex you would pay $196.35 in tax. If you shipped it to Borderlinx you pay zero. So thats nearly a $200 saving
2) With Aramex you now have to pay 5% local taxes on everything plus their KD2 charge. With DHL you don’t.
3) DHL is around twice as fast in getting the items to Kuwait
The only disadvantage of DHL over Aramex is the fact Aramex charge by weight, DHL by Volumetric weight
Macbook Retina taxes when using borderlinx is $154..not “ZERO”…
not if you order from amazon, its zero.

Mark, how can we calcuate the Volumetric weight of the package before we decide to ship to BL or SNS?
u can’t, u will just have to use common sense to figure out if the item you are ordering is going to be packed in a large box or not. thats the only way. Once Amazon screwed me though and shipped a memory card in a huge ass box.
So DHL never charges by the actual weight only by Volumetric weight?
I ordered a Logitech remote which weighs 0.7lbs from B&H but the shipment weighs 3.1lbs! probably this would have been better with BL.
They charge based on whichever turns out heavier

They started delivering last week.. My first shipment this year with them I was asked to put my address and everything but when it arrived they told me I had to go pick up from Ardhiya.. then my next one the MacBook Pro was delivered home and afterwards I read this. Apparently they just started it, if they’re going to continue or not is debatable but it’s good nonetheless.
Aramex is done for me, too costy for such a slow service, MyUS beats them both anyday of the week.
Here’s what Borderlinx had to say after I complained that DHL did not deliver a shipment. I complained because, the delivered 1 and did not deliver 2 others.

As you may have realised, we have now put a note to inform customers from Middle East that DHL may ask you to collect your shipment from one of their service point close to your delivery address. To clarify the matter, we can only suggest you to contact DHL and provide them with your address, to clarify the issue with delivery.

They deliver, picked up package from khaleejia branch yesterday and guy told me they started delivering.
Based on this post I placed an order last week – ordered a Kindle Fire, a cover for it and an Audio Technica ATH-M50 ear phone and I got delivery today. This was my first order, the package cost me USD70.29 for the courier bit which included USD52.20 for shipping, USD 8.23 duty and fuel surcharge of USD 7.26. The package weighed 3.41 kg. I have not done this before so I am not sure how competitive it is – but this worked well, delivery was well on time and they do deliver to your premises.

Did DHL just cancel the fuel surcharge? I’m checking a pending shipment in my account and there’s nothing about fuel..
Another advantage is that you can order liquids like shampoos and body lotions through DHL while you cant do that with aramex. their only condition it shouldn’t be flammable liquid.
A shipment from the US via Borderlinx and shipped with DHL Express is delayed because DHL Kuwait is not taking care of the Ministry of Health approval. Aramex always did! Don’t know where to go and what to do…

I bought items from eBay & amazon and shipped them through borderline to Saudi Arabia they took huge shipping charges, i paid because i already let users ship me my bought items to their address & before shipping i used their system to calculate estimate shipping charges which was shopping fair amount but when they receive shipment & i asked them to ship that to me they took huge amount from me while asking they provide me some stupid justification anyhow i don’t have other choice i ask them to ship me and paid all the required amount they shipped the items & now almost 20 days i have not received all item through dhl they are delivering me one item every week.
what the f*** service they are providing i am advising everybody please don’t ever use their service.

I ordered mk802iiis pocket tv plus air remote it costs around $88 from US and borderlinx took approx 6.5 kd for shipping. It took 2 days to ship from US to here. But still it is showing the customs clearance status. it reached yesterday (saturday-mar-16th 7am) till now it is showing the same message. I called the customercare of dhl they told that 2 working days for clearing and they will deliver tommorow.Does i have to pay anything more , i got confused after reading lots of comments regarding borderlinx in ur blog.
Dhl delivered to my house and there was no charge for that at all.All i did , i paid thru borderlinx site only.
