Customer Service in Lebanon

It doesn’t exist simply put. Actually maybe at some hotels like Gefinor Rotana who always seem to improve their service every time I stay with them but in the majority of places just forget about customer service. I was at a large local supermarket chain for example tonight which closes at 10PM. At 9:45PM a woman announcer came on to tell everyone they close at 10PM and everyone should proceed to the cashiers. They then proceeded to shut off all the lights leaving just a few on. Then the employees started all leaving. I was at the cold cuts section waiting for the guy to finish my order when another employee came over and told me to proceed to the cashiers. Like WTF?

In Lebanon they wouldn’t care. Bigger problem is people here don’t even know what good customer service is because they haven’t been exposed to any so companies don’t give it importance because everyone is used to this crap.

hey,

you’re totally right,

BTW, I watched the machinist in my new archos 7 today 🙂
they both rock! thanks for the recommendation

But i’ve had mostlty excellent customer service wherever I’ve been in Lebanon… At the Palm Beach hotel, they treat you like family, and most restaurants have great service (except Entrecote Downtown which sucked a%$!)

And even on the rare occasion when the service is substandard, at least it’s service with a smile and a “tekram 3ainak”

its simply because you are from lebanon; trust me if you are from the GCC you will be treated like a king? Sorry to say that

i wud luv to visit lebanon one day…

but that’s weird… lebanese in kuwait have the best hospitality ever!

Are you actually surprised customer service sucks in Lebanon? There are a few places that CS actually exists to a certain degree. I was in Entercote in Ashrafieh once and I found a small cockroach, I told the waiter and he was just like “oh… Where is it?” … “Oh…”

The people working at these places are all lazy that’s why, laid back and lazy.

you’re right about the customer service issue but on the other hand you should writte a letter, I’m sure the management doesn’t know what the employee did. Also remember Mark you are in lebanon where people don’t give a shit if they are going to close or not hahaha probably that’s why the truned off few of the lights…

Palm beach hotel DOES NOT have good customer service. to those that think so, sadly u have never really experienced proper customer service. They wouldn’t give us telephone numbers we requested (like restaurants, movies, etc so we can make reservations), they wouldn’t let us park our car in their parking lot (but of course all the saudi and qatari hummers and minis park which ever which way in their parking lot) even though we told them time n time again that we have a suite in the hotel. and finally, their staff do not clean properly. everyday they would forget something like filling up the mini bar, changing the trash, etc.

HORRIBLE.

yes perfect dealing i must say..bcoz u ppl dont think about others …just like here why you have to come at the very last moment to shop or for any service..this is done delibretly, to get special attention, but you guyz dont know they how much you are cursed by the staff…so think about it…whole world is not kuwait…every country has their own prefrences…no hard feelings….

Mark dont generalize, it is your country after all! bad services exists everywhere even in top notch developed cities…

why do you go there if you don’t like it…simply put.
people complain and still go..
to add: as if you were getting 5-star service in Kuwait…simply put
