Jazeera Airways Flying to London Starting October

Yesterday Jazeera Airways announced they are going to start flying to London starting October 27th. There will be daily flights and the trip to London will take 6 hours and 20 minutes while the journey back will take 7 hours and 5 minutes.

Jazeera Airways will fly their Airbus A320 neo to London which isn’t a big plane and they fly in and out of Gatwick not Heathrow. I picked out a random date to check out the price (November 1 going, November 4 return) and compared it with BA and Kuwait airways and this is what I got:

Jazeera Airways: KD 99.050
British Airways: KD 132.800
Kuwait Airways: KD 135.600

So you’re saving around KD 30 in this case although I’ve seen Kuwait Airways flights as low as KD 113. Too soon to tell if this will be a good option to fly to London, I’d be curious to read peoples reviews once they’ve started the route.

Technically you’re saving around 15kd because you still need around 12-15kd for a return ticket on gatwick express to get into town

I’ve travelled using the tube to and from Heathrow, and I had a backpack and 23kg check in bag. It’s not too hard.

If you’re booking in a popular/peak period, differences are much greater. I tried a Lon-Kuw return, Outbound 14 Dec, return 5th Jan. Here are the fares:
Jazeera 156 KD
BA 281 KD
Kuwait Airways 216 KD

time taken to fly from A to B irrespective of the direction of travel depends on various factors such as aircraft used, payload on board on the day of travel, enroute weather(jet streams being on of em) etc.

leather seats for long flight + one aisle + no personal entertainment system + humble catering = No Thank You

Exactly. I would always prefer to fly Kuwait Airways instead of Jazeera. Much bigger planes, good food, decent in flight entertainment, wifi, and T4 is pretty cool

Did you also price Pegasus – a low cost airline that flies from Kuwait through turkey to London Stansted?

The Business class seats on the new A320 neo planes are the same awful seats on the old planes?

I can’t find any pix or videos of the Business class of the new planes, can someone share pix or his/her experience, please?

Thanks

I think they are because in the description they mention middle seat is folded down and can be used as a table top while the chairs recline back 2 inch more than economy seats.

The 2 inch recline is imaginary…. not at all worth the difference in fares between economy and business unless you care more for the lounge access and luggage weight difference…

I’d rather split my wrist than travel with Jazeera ever again! I tried them once to Bahrain it was like 55mins of fingering the devil’s asshole, which is DEFINITELY not enjoyable at all!

You Sir have won the Comment of the Day award. Those lines really made me laugh and I shared them with my colleagues and they were in splits!

But seriously my family have had the misfortune of traveling on Jazeera…the first time out of curiosity via the new Terminal and the second time bcoz of the schedule/ price and the experience on both occasions were absolutely horrendous!

Never again flying with them…

Although it’s true for the prices but, Jazeera for the last couple of months has been so hard to fly with as its always late

Should be great for anyone wanting to travel to Surrey and South East England.

Plus, it will be a boon for London bound students transiting though Kuwait.

J9 is as good as they come; ‘ em no frills budget airlines.

For one thing, I find their cabin service vastly superior to KU’s- you know what I mean, non discriminatory and all.

This may be of interest as we have to fly to Budapest for Christmas. If we can find a connecting flight via Gatwick at a reasonable price this might be worth looking at as a possibility but with kids and no entertainment system it might be dodgy…..

Man to save 30 KD I would never, ever book a 6 hour Jazeera flight

If it’s 100KD to go to London vs. 300 KD to go to London fine, that’s a different conversation but Jazeera is one of the worst airlines I’ve ever flown. Fly Dubai is also a budget airlines and manages to not make me wish for the plane’s engines to give out mid flight

By the tone of anti J9 comments, I can tell there are at least a couple of commentators here who likely get their paychecks from Kuwait Airways.

Keep in mind that delays are bound to happen with Jazeera. They don’t function well efficiently most of the times. Can’t say always since I have had good experiences with them.

Last time I used them though, 2 weeks back. A 4h30m flight took me 11h30m to complete. We were stuck at the Kuwait airport for 7 hours! I repeat, 7 hours! I could’ve gone to & been half way back in that amount of time.

I chilled in the business lounge that had a poor selection of food so ended up getting a Slim Chickens twice.

How did you guys look up flights/prices? When I put December dates in it isn’t showing London as an option on Jazeera’s website.

Anyone received the EDM from Jazeera about this?

It said they are introducing Premium Economy on this, and it was highlighted in bold, any idea what’s their Premium Economy?
