Jazeera Airways to launch Kuwait – London Route this Year

Jazeera Airways will begin flights from Kuwait City to London Gatwick using an Airbus A320neo this year. The Kuwait-based carrier said. Thanks to the aircraft’s additional range, the flying radius from Kuwait has increased to 6.5 hrs. [Source]

I wonder how much cheaper the flight would be with Jazeera compared to British Airways and Kuwait Airways? I just found a ticket for KD113 on Kuwait Airways and KD118 with British Airways, so I’m assuming a ticket with Jazeera would be less than KD100.

How trustworthy and decent are Jazeera? Myself and my family are coming to Kuwait early August and due to myself and my wife working for different companies, we have chosen to buy our own tickets and be reimbursed.

We’re obviously looking for cheapest options.

I fly them regularly on the shortish hop between Kuwait and Dubai. Consider them a halfway house between a budget and full service carrier. Aside from price, your checked in baggage allowance is good (30kg on the route I fly) and you get a free sandwich. The IFE is poor, but I cannot say I have flown on their new 320NEO.

Regarding timeliness, all airlines on Kuwait / Dubai can be poor. Remember when departing the UK they will be bound by the EU airline compensation regulations (subject to change, obviously).

Never on Jazeera airways again even if it’s free. The worst terminal and delayed flights up to 3 hours in the last 2 trips.

UK air passenger duty (paid on departure) is just over 30 KWD for economy passengers, so how low they can go on a return flight is questionable.

I used to fly them a lot because – no joke! – they had one the best punctuality records of any airline worldwide!

then somehow it went downhill after they moved to their new terminal

With all due respect to Jazeera, I do not know why anyone would want to fly them to London

Kuwait Airways or British Airways should always be the top choice if you are going to London due to the comfort and size of the planes. The Kuwait Airways 777 has the most generous space in Economy I have ever seen, as well the 2 bags you can take with you (23 KG each)

Well if you are travelling light ,looking for a cheap no frill flight direct to Gatwick and are willing to pay a tiny bit extra for an on board meal dont see why you cant use Jazeera. 🙂

They totally screwed my weekend Dubai trip with massive delays:

1) Showed up to the airport at 6:00AM to make an ~7:30 AM flight.
2) Was told my flight is delayed until 9:25
3) Check the screen a few minutes later, it says the flight is delayed to 10:50
4) I go back to the counter to confirm, and they affirm that the flight will depart at 9:25
5) I go through security and to the transit desk to make sure the departure time is not 10:50
6) Transit desk insists that its leaving at 9:25
7) It’s getting close to 9am, so I ask if we are still on for 9:25. They say there might be a small delay of 30 min
8) It’s 9:15 and the plan is still not here. They open the gate and start letting people in.
9) At the gate, I ask the staff at the counter what the departure time is, they look down at the computer and say 10:50
10) We take off after 11AM

The returning flight was also delayed like 3 hours

Well if they do ; then dont carry €1000 .. carry 999 and the rest of your money in a credit card 😉

They used to be decent a few years ago, but ever since moving to that horrible new terminal , I’ve stopped using them.

Also, the quality of the planes is a disaster. Filthy interiors, grime on the seats, tray tables sticky etc.

Never again.

I recently flew on Jazeera’s business class to Dubai. This is a quick rundown of the experience:
– There is a business line for check-in, and you get priority tags for your bags.
– There’s no business lounge (yet), so you get a voucher for a (sandwich, snack, cold/hot drink) from Café Supreme.
– There’s a business line at the gate, but you end up with everyone on the bus, and queue again with everyone to exit the bus and enter the plane.
– On the plane, the business seats are actually three seats with the middle one turned into a makeshift side table for the two passengers.
– You get Arabic coffee and a cold drink as a welcome drink.
– There’s a menu for two or three mains, but whatever you choose the meal is basically a standard packaged economy meal.
– Disembarking the plane, you leave with everyone, but you’re first because your in the front, and you get on the bus with everyone else.
And that’s the business experience of Jazeera airways, at least you don’t share a toilet with 150 on the plane though.
It’s a budget experience for sure, but the price was not budget at all. Business prices are pretty much close to what you would pay for Kuwait Airways or Emirates. Only reason I took Jazeera was the schedule.
