Kuwait Airways Gets a 5 star Rating

Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) took feedback from the popular TripIt app and determined the results of the Passenger Choice Awards and the Official Airline Rating. Kuwait Airways ended up getting an5-star airline rating which sounds like a big thing, but technically, the lowest it could have scored on this list was a 4. Still, a 5-star rating puts it ahead of airlines like British Airways and Etihad Airways which both scored a rating of 4. It’s a small victory but still an important one since it shows how quickly Kuwait Airways has changed for the better now that they’ve got the newer planes and a dedicated terminal.

Here are the results of the Passenger Choice Awards:

Best Seat Comfort – Qatar Airways
Best Entertainment – Emirates
Best Wi-Fi – Delta Air Lines
Best Cabin Service – Qatar Airways
Best Food and Beverage – Qatar Airways

On a side note, Kuwait Airways also came ninth in flights timing accuracy between 175 airlines according to the UK’s Official Aviation Guide (OAG).

Always used KU for my travel to Kochi, doing so for the last several years and they have always been on time!
Hopefully I did not jinx it and kudos to them for the rating!
The new KU terminal is bliss relative to what used to happen at the other place!

They’re trying to fix their current routes and they’ve got a ton of new planes on the way so i’m sure they’re planning on adding more routes over time.

Kuwait Airways staff treated customers with utmost arrogance and lack of manners two weeks ago at Terminal 4 just for a discussion on weight on a flight to London.

The employee is armed with a culture and a law that criminalizes insulting him with a fine of 500 dinars or detention, which makes him hostile and his words are not polite at all

Unless the company works to change the mentality of some of its employees and move them from the mood of a ministry employee to a professional employee competes with the employees of other airlines in terms of tact, discipline and common sense will not benefit any certificate other than the certificate of its customers

New Terminal and the new 777s and 320s are really good. Waiting for the new 330s and 350s as well. I love flying Kuwait airways nowadays.

I really the seat pitch and comfort is better in the newer Kuwait airways planes than Qatar airways.

Its not a small victory if you consider this as a big step for Kuwait Airways.

And if you consider the earlier reports about how poorly they ranked, yes, those who underestimated can now eat this 🙂

Good for Kuwait Airways! 👏🏻

Kuwait Airways has been having the same roster of movies since June! And their food is always terrible (except when I flew from Milan where the food tasted good and did not result in stomach aches)

And yet you still have TONS of people who continue to hate on Kuwait Airways and would “never fly on it”. Oh well, more seats for the rest of us

I love that they have progressed so much in the last few years and have been doing a good job. Hopefully with T2 the aviation industry in Kuwait gets much better

Positive feat indeed – but on the flip side they are getting rid of their B77W’s – and eventually becoming an all Airbus operated fleet. I believe much of the accolades are a result of the cabin experience of the B77W, so pretty sad move there.

I believe the lease is 20 years? Anyway, it’s not that much of a big deal. Hopefully the A350 and A330Neo will compensate

Flew 7 times this year on kuwait airways the last was in August to Milano…simply amazing in every little detail.
No more Emirates or Turkish airways for me unless I really really have to.

In Heathrow they never leave on time but they always land in Kuwait bam on time if not early. Considering no other airline I experienced ever bother waiting for their passengers, kuwait airways must pay a fortune on wasted fuel to fly faster just to let their passengers have that extra 10 minutes to shop. Their meals are good, extremely large and you get actual silverware not plastic shit. Transit passengers also get a free meal. Haters can shove their hate, though I wouldn’t say no to sipping cognac from their blue cups.

Nope. BYOB isn’t on Kuwait Airways. I once went on Egypt Air and came back via Kuwait Airways. Egypt air allowed it. Kuwait airways did not.

Tbh I’ve read several articles where it was ok, even going as far as providing glasses and ice for the alcohol. I’d recommend you ask the hosts/hostesses prior and also in a more private area like business class. The thing is in all the articles it was only accepted on flights which did not involve Kuwait (Shanon to jfk) but now the only route is Paris – nice (wanna go to Monaco together?). Keep in mind this is kuwait airlines so only bring the finest shit, no beer nor whiskey also sharing is caring so bring enough for everyone especially our bearded brothers.

Extremely large meals? Which class did you fly in? Every flight I’ve been with the meals have always been in small trays and even during breakfast hour they only give you a small box with one sandwich in it.

You mean on short hauls? Your lucky to get anything on short haul, I flew from Amsterdam to Leeds and didn’t get shit. I mean tbh if I were you I’d protest “steak & caviar for short haul flights” perhaps followed high tea for 50kd. Jesus Christ you people are so hard to please, it is definitely unhealthy.

I don’t want steak and caviar for short haul flights, where TF did you get this assumption???? Have you ever eaten Kuwait Airways food in recent years? Even their first class meals were stomach turning! All I want from an airline meal is to not cause me health problems, is that so hard to understand?

The new practice for some airlines is to add additional time to your flight duration so it would seem you arrive on time or early. It’s mostly out of hand for airlines, busy airports and waiting in queue for flights taking off and landing has made some airlines take this step.

All I really want from any airline is comfortable seats, unobtrusive service (i.e. do not disturb) and to ARRIVE ON TIME!

Kudos to Kuwait Airways for being punctual

Used to prefer Qatar for years to any other airlines but recently they have been slipping on schedule, food is getting worse, new seating arrangements are much more cramped, Lounge access has become more restricted. You can tell they’re bleeding money.

In all honesty, all I want from Kuwait Airways is to open a direct flight to Tokyo, even if it is once or twice a week

Hopefully one day
