For just £15 I was able to get a pre-paid phone line from the mobile operator 3 that lasts a month and comes with 300 minutes of talk time, 3000 SMS’s and unlimited 3G data. Works great with the iPhone and Personal Hotspot also works so you could get online in your hotel room with your laptop and avoid the hotels expensive internet rates.

I got the same offer when I was in London back in October. BUt for some reason, the minutes got consumed rather quickly. I’m pretty sure I definitely didn’t talk for 300 minutes, but I ran out of credit very quickly. I had a vodafone BB line, so I limited my calls to that phone.
With 3. my internet connection was always fast, almost never lagged or disconnected. It was an amazing offer, and I’m glad you think so too.

Yah just make sure your emails aren’t running on your phone. I used that same company / package last summer and I still get English spam emails today… If its too good to be true… 😉
of course my emails are running on the phone. f you’re checking your emails on your phone with 3 they can’t know what your email address is. The only way for 3 to know what your email address is is if you give it to them.
If your email is running over their network. Trust me they know your address.

3’s coverage is rubbish in some parts of London (Central is ok). Price is similar to all providers. You should always check at the time of arrival! I did the same in November with T-Mobile for 10 pounds.

True prices are similar but Vodafone for example has a 500mb download limit
I wish more places had prepaid with unlimited data, whenever I travel my iPhone becomes a brick unless I want to pay the insane roaming charges. Never realized how much I use 3G lol

You should check out a community run mobile company called GiffGaff. Amazing service £15 gets you 400 minutes and unlimited texts and web use! They Rock!!!
