Skip Airport Queues for KD110 a Year

Pearl Assist have a new membership option where for KD110 a year you get unlimited meet and assist services at the airport. I’ve tried them before and they’re really a great way to skip the long passport control queues at the airport. The GCC lines aren’t that bad but the expat lines are usually a disaster.

Pearl Assist charge KD10 for a one time meet and assist so at KD110 a year, it could be worth it if you travel a lot and want to get out of the airport as quickly as possible. If you’re interested in this service you can get more information [Here]

Update: I originally wrote it was KD100 per year but turns out they increased it to KD110 two weeks ago so updated the post accordingly.

I don’t think so in this context, Peal Assist isn’t a single person. “has a” would work if I was talking about a person, same with “charges” vs “charge”.

Depends on American or British usage. In American English, an entity (like a company) is singular. You’d say, “Ford has a new model of Mustang coming out.”

In British English (“English English”?) the entity is generally considered plural, so the example would be, “Ford have a new model of Mustang coming out.”

Is this only on arrival or do they help get you through departure too?

Also, are they affiliated with the supposed new service where you don’t have to wait for you bags at the carousel and you get them delivered at home within a few hours?

Pearl Assist is a service provided by National Aviation Services (NAS) that also manages the Pearl, Derwaza and Metro Lounges at the Main Terminal and the Pearl lounge at the Sheikh Saad Terminal as well . The company also offers a baggage delivery service on arrivals as Mark mentioned.

Would that be 10KD for both departures and arrival, or is it 10KD departures and 10KD arrivals? If it is the latter then 100KD is a good deal.

10kd each for arrivals and departure.

I took it last 2 weeks back, used it thrice. No one was available at the gate. The first time, they called me 30 minutes later after I finished immigration. The second time, they called 1.5 hours later after I reached home to apologize stating the flight didn’t show up on their list (PS: Flight landed on time)

So far, terrible experience. Will wait and watch to see what happens.

I tried it last week as i was traveling for the weekend.they called me 3 hours before my flight to ask me what time will i be arriving, met with them at the check-in counter, finished everything in 10 min max.
on my way back, they were holding my name, helped me and i was out of the airport in less than 15 min… so my experience was great honestly.

certified grammar nazi here- company names are collective nouns. They take a singular verb. Example “Lens Crafters is a company that sells glasses.”

Great business model. Those responsible for the upkeep ensure the experience continues to remain shitty, so companies like this can sell their ‘premium’ service.

This concierge / VIP service is available at all airports, so your business model logic doesn’t fly.

(excuse the pun).

The counter to your argument would be whether all airports are equally shitty. But as Mark goes on to point out in the blog, the experience is worse off if you’re an expat.
