Help rebuild Animal Friends

As you know by now the Animal Friends shelter was engulfed by fire and so they now need help rebuilding it again. Animal Friends are going to hold a meeting on Friday to discuss the next steps in this rebuilding process. This is the email I received from them on this subject:

The outpouring of support and generosity since the fire has been overwhelming. Whether it is volunteering, donating, fundraising or fostering, your offers of help are hugely appreciated and will go a long way to help us get the AFL shelter back up and running as soon as possible. We are holding a meeting to give everyone the latest information, to discuss what the next steps are and how we can work together to help the animals.

When: Friday 26th March
Time: 4.00pm to 6.00pm
Location: Moevenpick Al Bida’a. Gulf Road Salmiya
Room Slaysell 2 & 3

Please email Olivia at [email protected] or call on 9737 7867 if you have any questions.

A big thank you to the Moevenpick Al Bida’a who are big supporters of Animal Friends and are allowing us the use of the meeting room and equipment free of charge.

i think its retarded. there are so many people dying coz of starvation every day in africa, and here we’re more worried about dogs and cats!

Basit
ok u got a point

but men can work and ask for food
but what about theis poor dogs and cats who are locked up in this cages

they can do nothing

just imagine how it feels if u were in the dogs shoes….

the bad thing for this AFL is they are in the middle of nowhere

its hard to get to there place

Basit is correct, we should help the people of Africa. However, its not one or the other. The animals need help too, especially in this animal hating society we live in.

Also, I am not aware of any famine in Africa at the moment. I do not think there has been a famine in Africa for 10 years or so. Correct me if I am wrong, but Africans are now dying of Aids and other diseases, not of hunger.

Oh!! too bad! you know that Qatar animal welfare society (aka QAWS) also got caught on fire a few months ago!!and many of their cats died during it and a couple of dogs :'( it was a sad day.

so guys don’t be cheap there is loads of stories about feading the stray animals in islam even the prophet mohammed fed the street cats sometimes.

Okay okay, animals are Gods creatures right? And correct me if I’m wrong but, last time I checked animals pretty much survived out in the open by themselves? Right?

I’m just saying you know, there are much bigger issues in this world at the moment, and I guess humans come before anything else. So yeah, go ahead and help out the animals, only if you’ve helped a human en route.

well there alot of causes in the world and evryone get to pick the one that he wants to get involved in, if there were people caring for trees and weather or whales and dolphins why can’t dogs and cats be part of it too??

dogs and cats can’t survive in their own there is no food left for them we ship them from all over the world we let them breed and we throw them out to fend for themselves! they just can’t survive here anymore! they’re not wolves they’re domesticated animals.

Any idea HOW much Kuwait spends in foreign aid and how much they give to dogs and cats in their own back yard?

The later: ZERO
