Thanks Saad

this lady is VERY rude …!! atleast show some respect to the guy … i dont care where he is from or who his Parents are …. there is somehing called Respect!! kuwaiti ppl have respect to others…the real Question is “is she Kuwaiti?”

ra7aw il6ayben wallah…!

mn zman ra7o el 6yben ya 3ziiz , he could be a kuwaiti o jensya ola b3d , but el girl ma yendra lol.

the girl is not rude,, and no way his father is a kuwaiti bcoz of the name!!! maqbool?

wow that was epic
i repeated the clip say 100 times loool

plz everybody forward

That lady is extremely rude and absolutely unprofessional. I don’t blame her, I blame the TV station that hired her and her parents for failing at raising her with adequate manners.

I know the guy in the video very well, he used to come to AUK (American University of Kuwait) as a guest to just walk around and mingle upon different people, he is somewhat mentally challenged and has problems with socializing. If any of you frequent Marina Mall, you will often see him there either walking around by himself aimlessly or sitting by himself all alone. What surprised me is that usually very quiet and probably got excited to be on TV hence him being very excited, the bitch took advantage of him and started mocking him on video.

For all of you who are laughing about him saying he’s Kuwaiti, he could have either meant that he is living in Kuwait (perhaps he did not understand the question) or that he is actually half Kuwaiti, why not think of that instead of laughing at him?

I’m glad this show is being aired and shown to people all across the world, let them know and learn what kind of media is coming out of this country.

iil mothee3a ymkin 3abalha ina the crew were pranking her thus she laughed..ymkin ma tadree ina ohwa maskeen fee shai 3aqliyan or something.. shda3wa man

Guys to be honest, I dont know why Arab people are having that kinda attitude.I mean cummon guys you are rich but dont try to take world beneath your feet.

if the boy is realy suffering from mental challenge … this vid must be removed
Coz its not funny to laugh about these people.. even the TV channel must appologize to him

yeah posted yesterday however the title mentioned that it is in Kuwait TV while it is on Funoon TV

and yes he is Kuwaiti 🙂 at least he is wearing like Kuwaities and he is PROUD of it 🙂

shes not rude hes a dumbass saying hes kuwaiti wtf would he even say that.. who would say “zain ..mab9oot” hahaha these people dnt deserve respect i hate it when people say im kuwaiti or im canadian or american when they r from egypt pakistan palestine etc.. anyways ashkara shes not really kuwaiti if u know wat i mean. and for all of u saying she was rude i bet anything if u were in her place seeing a guy wearing a dishdasha and qitra saying hes kuwaiti then talks that way ud laugh at him cuz 1. hes weird and 2. cuz ud be in shock,, id personally smack him on the head

why so angry? a39abik. “smack him on the head” you need help, man. why do you “hate” those who claim to be of a nationality they arent, what is is to you? you’re everything wrong with Kuwait: judgemental, condescending, and disgustingly vulgar. why would you look down upon people from egypt, pakisan, or palestine and “…etc” 3ala goltik? is it because they’re from underdeveloped countries o allah ma rizag-hum el 5air ily rezagna? latshouf nafsik, likuwait has ONE major source of income, oil. ni3ma min allah. hatha bidal ma ta7mid rabik? ana mo imlawi3 chabdy ela haly shayfeen rou7-hum. 3ala shino. wallah maskeen.

I don’t think the girl is rude. The crew (people working with her) are rude because they are the ones who told her to go and ask this weird guy. He is acting strange, she laughed, we laughed and every Kuwaiti will laugh because of the way he acts. Noone can resist laughing if he/she is in her place.

Maybe some foreigners wouldn’t understand what is funny with that guy. His accent, the way he wears the traditional dress, his name which all imply that he is not Kuwaiti but the guy incists.

People get a life!! Don’t act as angels and make a fuss out of nothing!!

The girl is so unprofessional with that attitude.. how do they hire these girls? 3ala what???
and the guy could be half kuwaiti.. or he may just have misunderstood the question.. and thanks appalled.. some kuwaities need to change there mentalities.. its sickening..

look it is after all a comedy show…but a she did under Respected him a couple of times which is not acceptable Regardless that he got a mind problem … SHE DID CALL HIM A LIAR AT THE END OF THE CLIP YOU KNOW!

Poor thing he was taking it Very seriously ;/ look at him how he was trying and trying HARD to answer ;/

I blame the crew actually because they were the ones who probably told her to go talk to him, probably as an inside joke. She was professional in the beginning but I guess many people if they were in ther shoes they would most likely react the same way. It clearly shows she did not expect that from him and that was the reason she laughed.

Maybe whoever his real friends and parents are should make a case against the TV show for ridiculing him- especially if he is mentally challenged.Who was the tramp interviewing him anyway?

Actually I’m laughing at her English ”ras-a-perry….where it is from”.
Oh and sure as he’s not Kuwaiti, she’s not a natural blonde- she needs her roots done.

Well if he is seriously ill then I’d suggest that Mark should remove this video, mark’s blog is well know and that already made this video viral through Kuwait.. you’ll see it all around facebook and mark can be one of the reasons.. poor guy, I laughed badly before reading that he had problems or something.

For sure he is Indian. But why he pretended to be a Kuwaiti. He could tell her that he could not speak arabic.

Poor chap

I can’t believe this, the girl is obviously very rude and all, but it’s not all her fault. It’s mostly the studio’s fault, the guy could be mentally ill or something, and they took advantage of him. and she disrespected him several times, as she laughed like 3 times in his face. and after all of that crew still edited it and aired it on TV for millions of people to watch.
I admit, i would’ve laughed if I was in her place, but i wouldn’t call him a liar behind his back and for everyone to hear, and i would’ve asked the crew to cut this part from the episode as it’s very rude and ” 8lat adab! ”
and the poor guy he was sincerely trying hard to answer the question, and maybe when he said ” i’m Kuwaiti ” he meant that he lived all his life in Kuwait.
I blame Fnoon for that. that channel is disgusting.

No Mark, please do not remove this post; let people see what Funoon TV is all about and how the TV crew of this part of the world behave i.e. unprofessionally.

@freespeech, but what about the guy’s feelings if he ever watches mark’s blog and knows how well known it is?

hi guys.
I don’t blame the girl, I’ve also have relatives who are below 16 years old , live in Kuwait ,who’s parents were Jordanian ,then became Canadian and now they are Kuwaiti, they are born here, and never left this country and guess what they can not speak Arabic WTF!!!! American schools,
no culture no loyalty no nothing, all these kids are talking about is that English is the world language and Arabic is gonna extinct.I will laugh at them when they deal with people who don not speak English.

This is exactly why my family left Kuwait. We are of Indian origin, but were in Kuwait since the 1920s. No matter what, I was always “Indian” or a “Hindi”, no matter how much my family had contributed to Kuwait. Many Kuwaitis have this disgusting attitude. Right now, I am proud to call myself American. Sure, I was born in Kuwait to Indian parents, but Americans accept me as American, even though I was born in Kuwait and not here. Kuwait has this issue where they segregate foreigners and then wonder why they are disliked in theor own country. Then we have fools like the (possibly Indian) guy in the Kuwaiti costume who are desperate enough to be Kuwaiti. In the states, I rarely tell people I was born in Kuwait. I would rather say I am Indian than from the Middle East! Not a great way to make friends! lol.

The girl was rude, but I am glad this is being broadcasted. Only those who lived in Kuwait no this disgusting personality.

@Dj Hams
I agree with u about many people lived in Kuwait, deserve to be Kuwaiti or at least to have permanent residency, but if you are an American I am sure you know how to speak English right??!! , so should all Kuwaiti know Arabic at least.

The first thought that came to my mind when reading some of these comments, was that isn’t it Ramadan right now? Where is the compassion for the less fortunate? (like a mentally challenged person)
Just wondering…

If you don’t like it then get the fuck out of here.

How’s this for Kuwaiti attitude? 🙂

Whether he is mentally challenged or not, he is a human being that deserves respect… no matter what country he is from, he is no different from this girl. What makes her think shes superior to him? Its despicable! What gives her the right to laugh at him?? Even if he is not Kuwaiti, Kuwaitis should be happy that he is proud to say that he is Kuwaiti! this means he loves our country… would she have laughed if the guy she was interviewing was a handsome American? this is ridiculous.

The disrespect to other nationalities that is going on in Kuwait makes me really sad , my dad is Kuwaiti and i speak fluent arabic, sometimes when we have family visiting from Europe i seriously thank God that they don’t understand arabic or else they would have been really hurt or offended by the comments they get from the guys in malls or restaurants…

This has got to stop, where is the pleasure in making fun of other people? we all have equal rights, no one has the right to judge anyone based on looks, nationality, race or religion.

The girl is rude, yes. The guy is weird, yes. The video is funny, YES!!

So get over it will you .. and to the people asking Mark to remove the video, YouTube is more popular than 2:48AM 🙂

@TweeZ
How is this entertaining to anyone? an act of disrespecting others? you are showing the whole country that this is funny and acceptable, so go do it..!! You can go to jail for airing something like that on TV in Australia and i’m sure in many other countries 2.

It is not an act, i have been harassed many times in Kuwait by Kuwaitis and i am a Kuwaiti myself, i just don’t look like other Kuwaitis. Just because i have blond hair and i stood in the ‘GCC only’ line in the airport to get my passport stamped i was called ‘ghabeya eli mat3arif tegra!’ coz i had to be standing in the ‘other nationalities’ line. When my turn came i said salam 3alaikom to the police officer and he laughed at me coz he thought i was a Kuwaiti wanna be! it was a completely different story when i took my Kuwaiti passport out. The situation is disgusting in Kuwait. All those other nationalities are helping our country develop and grow, i dont think any Kuwaiti would wanna be collecting trash on the streets in the mid of summer… be thankful that your country is wealthy, it is a gift from God so do not take it for granted coz what goes around comes around.

im so proud of most of the comments on here. I can now rest assured that my country and its people are somewhat becoming more educated about other people’s challenges in life. jad im happy 🙂

@Q80BOY
Yes, i agree. Youtube IS more popular than 248AM.
But you wouldn’t have found out about the video if it wasn’t for this blog, right?!
So again, Mark, plzz remove it!!

To tell the truth I did laugh at first. I didn’t think that the boy was mentally challenged. I don’t exactly remember what I thought, but I did think that it was funny. After reading the comments I realized that something was wrong with him. If I were in that girl’s shoes I must admit that I would have laughed a bit but I would not have said that he wasn’t a Kuwaiti. However, I would have been able to control myself after realizing that he is mentally challenged. Think about it..maybe she didn’t realize that he was, or as other people commented, she thought that this was a prank.

I don’t F$#%!ign care if he’s retarded or not, now that we’ve moved this out of the way. How would the poor girl (who happens to be ridiculously hot if I may add) know if the guy is “special” … it’s not like it’s written on his forehead.

She wasn’t rude, but was caught in this situation because of him saying he was Kuwaiti … my god even if you mute the clip it’s still funny 🙂

Yes I know we’re all going to hell :))

P.S: well said abdullah (the guys before me) I agree 100%

Ya Abdulla Ur right, plus She wasnt trying to be rude intentionally , Im not saying what happened is OK , she got in a situation that she tried to handle in a right manner but horribly failed at it, shes just a reporter with a lack of experience.

And for god sake Stafa! Yes she was unprofessional ,but ” I blame the TV station that hired her and her parents for failing at raising her with adequate manners. ” your kinda over reacting ? i dont see her taking advantage of him or anything ! the only wrong thing she did is to laugh which she shouldnt have done that , at least not in his face!

Abdulla? the girl is hot?? hahahaha man u got a baaaad discusting taste in women… u call that nasty thing hot?

appalled u make no sense at all.. why the hell would i be showing off.. ur thinking too hard and trying to turn what i said into something bad (as if i care) but i really do hate those people who say they r from different countries when clearly they r not , NOT cuz they are considered as a 3rd world country— and if u didnt know kuwait is considered as a third world country so next time try to think before writing— oo and one last thing,, ur one of the reason why kuwait is considered as a 3rd world country.. cuz like how most kuwaitis do u just talk as if u understand everything when obviously u dnt know anything :)— oo and when u read posts dnt read it from ur point of view cuz when reading something u might not get what the writer is really trying to say so “a39aabich”

ok abdullah, you are sooo badass, everyone here is impressed by you. so now maybe you can take a second to stfu and read the comment where stafa said he is mentally challenged.
so dont patronise people on this blog-if anyone here talks like they know everything, its you.
grow up and get a life..

I watched the clip twice and i still have no idea where the funny part is ?

it was weird and shocking, but not funny

o eshda3wa 3aleha she’s laughing that hard !! so rude and unprofessional

@ Tweez
shof .. bil kuwait mamno3 ilizdiwajiah .. bss barra mo mamno3 .. he dsnt look like a kuwaiti and sure dsnt speak like one .. but if he have jinsiah then hes not a muzdawaj …. i mean cmon no offence to this poor guy but does he even know what is a “Muzdawij”?

@ 3aziiz
I was joking bro about this whole “izdiwaaaj” thing

Second,
it is obvious that the whole thing is like a bad Punk’d episode and the victim was the female reporter.

As if most of you haven’t figured it out yet.

@3aziiz

Laa ya baba! Every single country in the world has official citizenship documentation. It just so happens that in Kuwait it is called a “jinsiya”!

BONE the girl…her life sucks anyways….i mean come on… she is a reporter for some bs local channel… and still lives in her daddys house… cant go out for a walk…due to extreme heat and dust… has to slab much makeup to look good. and is pretty low in intellect.

the joke is on her..

@ TweeZ woow man chill out ;s

The girl was rude, but I am glad this is being broadcasted. Only those who lived in Kuwait no this disgusting personality.”

@DJ hams: Any American with half a brain will know you’re originally from India. The combination of your accent, distinct color of your skin, the way you look shows it. Yea you can go around in the States telling people you’re American, but they know you aren’t and don’t comment due to politeness or not caring about what you say your nationality is.

I’m half Kuwaiti half American by blood, and i’m proud. I just don’t understand why some people ‘change’ their nationalities all off the sudden when they get a new passport. To me, people that do this are embarrassed of their own country , and are denouncing their own country, it’s traditions, values and culture. Have a little more respect for ancestors.

@AbdulKareem: Interestingly enough, I had an accent when I first immigrated, and people would ask me where I was originally from. I would tell them I was born and raised in Kuwait. Then they’d ask me if I was Kuwaiti. I would say NO! It is hard for people here to understand the concept of having ancestors living in Kuwait since the early 1900’s and yet calling ourself Indian. I dont have my accent anymore, but I will always look Indian. It is pretty obvious that I am of Indian origin or somewhere else in that part of the world, but so are other Americans who are of European descent, African descent, hispanic descent, etc. That is what makes America! Does that mean that the only Americans are the native Americans? The US has 2.8 million Indian Americans. I would love to call myself Kuwaiti. Why? Because Kuwait is where I was born and raised, and where my parents were born and raised. I have never lived in India, and have more famly living in Europe and the states than in India. But many Kuwaitis make it sure that expats remember that they are “foreigners” and “hindis”. This leaves a bittersweet taste in the mouths of many foreigners. And then there are some fools like the guy in this video who acts upon it! Dont worry, as I dont feel sorry for the fool in the video.

@AbdulKareem:
“I just don’t understand why some people ‘change’ their nationalities all off the sudden when they get a new passport.”

Changing passports changes your nationality, not your ethnicity. BIG DIFFERENCE! I didnt say I was not of Indian origin. Any one with half a brain would know that. Since you are half American and half Kuwaiti, which part of you came up with this; the Kuwaiti or the American side? Tough call…I know. lol

However many Kuwaitis hate to see Indians with American passports. Looks like some Kuwaitis hate to see people from “inferior nations” moving forward. I notice this when I used to come to Kuwait. A Kuwaiti(in Jleeb) went on to remind me that I will always be a hindi, even though he said it with a smile.

All nationalities should hold the same value, unlike in Kuwait where American nurses make more than Indian nurses, whereas Kuwaiti nurses make more than the previous two.

@AbdulKareem: With your logic in mind, anyone with quarter of a brain would know that “Abdul Kareem” is not an American name, but more possibly a terrorists name. Just sayin’! 😛

i definetly agree with what sun said, iv been born and raised in Kuwait and both my parents have born and raised in Kuwait, and i dont speak arabic in any other dialect than Kuwaiti and so do my parents even though we’re full syrian, thuogh i have never been their and really did consider kuwait home as thats where my family grew up, we also stayed during the gulf war, so if this doesnt make it home then i dont know waht will, but so i thought. As a country i love kuwait cuz its where all my friends are, all the familiar stuff. But as i got older unfortunately as a foreigner u feel very unwanted, u really do realize how racist and disrespectful some people are in this country, and how ungrateful some people are. bidal ma il wa7id ya7mid raba, instead 6ay7ila shimata o ti6iniz. dont get me wrong i love Kuwait, its the only home i know, but when im a year abroad for uni. and going to visit home u expect a little more respect and hospitality at the airport. but everytime i was excited to visit my family for the summer or winter in kuwait, they remind me exactly why sumtimes i would rather not go back to kuwait.

Im sorry but waht are those people being snobby about? they prob have high school degree and maybe, and the only reason ur fortunate is because il deera feeha 5air and only one source of it, take away the oil and all ur left with is a desert. i remember awhile back mark posted old pictured old kuwait, mud house, dirt roads and barely anything, i bet people were alot more friendly back then, even now, not so long ago my parent used to tell me kuwait was beautiful during the 70’s people werent up each others asses all the time..you didnt run your life according to waht people say. for such a small country it houses alot of hate, like that abdullah guy for instance, he’s why people give Kuwait a bad name.

I am not sure who posted that comment, but I agree with it.

@ Tweez yeah countries do have a citizenship and a all but i have never seen any other country that differentiates between its own citizens, jinsiya ola o thanya and god knows what, if you’re kuwaiti then ur kuwaiti why should there be a difference…

Lolz !! OMG I cant believe it..
this guy used to live in my building in Salmiya.. lolz 😀
nice to see him ere !!

Can’t believe that this disgusting inferior behavior still reeks in Kuwait. I don’t have a single regret leaving that country for the land of the Free!

Unfortunately, a lot if not most Kuwaitis forgot their early history, and forgot that before oil, they relied on “India” as their main trading partner, heck, they even used their currency, they had no money of their own before the 60s.

I won’t be surprised if some of their great grandparents are from India. Now who’s being ungrateful?

Woow!

@ Nael

Yeah that’s a good thing you made leaving this country because you weren’t forced to be in this lovely country from the start.

Yes we Kuwaities used to do business with the indians in the 60s, But we weren’t forced to, Some Kuwaities did business with other countries
just to make our country better place to us.

And guess what ?
The 60s are 60s which means that was 70 years ago which is old and has to be forgotten.

Hello 2010 😀

So what if it is 2010? You should not forget the past. If we forgot all the famous inventors, inventions and everything from the past, we would have nothing right now. We would all be cavemen and cavewomen. Let us all be grateful for what we have, and thank God. Kuwaiti, Bangali, Indian, American, we are all equal in Gods eyes, and we all leave everything when we die. Most of all, we all have the same goals in life…to live, have a family, a house, a peaceful environment, etc.

“However many Kuwaitis hate to see Indians with American passports. Looks like some Kuwaitis hate to see people from “inferior nations” moving forward. I notice this when I used to come to Kuwait. A Kuwaiti(in Jleeb) went on to remind me that I will always be a hindi, even though he said it with a smile.”

@DJ hams: I don’t care what passport you hold, but just because you hold an American passport doesn’t mean culturally you are one, remember that. I just find it stupid when someone that just came straight from one country, goes to another, doesn’t appear, talk, or socialize like the natives there, yet gets that nations passport and all of the sudden goes around thinking he’s someone else. Why are you so ashamed of your nationality that you feel the need to assimilate in another country?

The people who are making this into an OFFENCE, please consider the following…
– The guy looked like he could be Kuwaiti but he spoke like he was Indian. There is something a bit funny about that. So no one is poking fun at him or his ethnicity, but a mismatch in looks versus content is funny.
-When she stared laughing she was laughing at herself for saying strawberry. EVERYTIME she spoke with him she spoke as she usually does with all people, I think some people failed to realize this because they have’nt watched the show and how it pokes fun at EVERYONE. Is it a cheap sell? yes, but it was nothing that was tailored against him.
I repeat -The way she responded to him once he stated his answers was how she typically answers people. She was rude, but she was being her NORMAL RUDE SELF.

And if you sense some ‘Discrimination’ in Kuwait and you are not a Kuwaiti, get over it already and see how we are racists amongst ourselves, let alone others.

I, the Divine.

@AbdulKareem: I do agree with what you say, as in one should try to assimilate. I hate it when people come here and set up mosques, talk their language, and hang out with their people. I am an American-Indian. I am of Indian descent. Proud of it, as I should be. But I am American before that, and a registered reserve with the National Guard. I am all for assimilation. Even in Kuwait, the Indians should learn to talk in Arabic and assimilate with the culture of Kuwait. When in the states, I expect the same.

I agree with you Oz. The guy asked for it. And it is amusing to see classes amongst Kuwaiti citizenship, even though I dont support it.

@AbdulKareem: Let us just agree to disagree. You have your beliefs and I have mine. I dont want to waste any more time on useless arguments, so I wont check this particular post. Great post, Mark! 🙂

~Jason H

@Oz: Humour is down to individual taste so I guess everyone will have to agree to disagree as to whether this is funny or not.
The issue is that this was broadcast and clearly shows a man who has mental health issues being mocked. It is fine for you to say that the presenter always talks to everyone in this way. However, if she was to make jokes about an elderly Kuwaiti man in a wheelchair, talking to him as if he were stupid and laughing if he couldn’t hear very well, everyone would be outraged and call it ‘disrespctful’.
I am old enough to remember the jokes about the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Again, very offensive to most Kuwaitis, but realising this, most comedians steered clear of the subject. What the makers of this show need to realise is that to the majority of the developed world, making fun of mentally ill people is considered extremely distasteful. It is seen as a sign that the person/people making the jokes are poorly educated and still not living in the 21st century.

@ g45 m45k

Thanks for not posting a stupid and typical: “Get The F*ck Out” response, and responded in a rather civilized with a touch of sarcasm.

You said:
“Yeah that’s a good thing you made leaving this country because you weren’t forced to be in this lovely country from the start”.

Actually, I was forced to stay because both my parents live there, and as a child, I didn’t have a say to where we should go to live. After I finished high school, I did decide to leave on my own.

However, you said: “Yes we Kuwaities used to do business with the indians in the 60s, But we weren’t forced to, Some Kuwaities did business with other countriesjust to make our country better place to us.”

I’m not into the Kuwaiti economy whatsoever, but according to Wikipedia (which usually has a good source of information):
“Japan is the largest customer of Kuwaiti oil followed by (India)”

This goes back to 2007, so it’s outdated, but my point was, your country didn’t stop having business relations during the 60s like you stated, and I’m sure that it still has business relations with India and will continue to have one as long as there is need for Kuwaiti oil or until your oil runs out.

You said:
“The 60s are 60s which means that was 70 years ago which is old and has to be forgotten”.

So are you saying that you should forget that Kuwait had its independence from England in the 60s because it is old information?

So you see, you were wrong in all three statements there.

Nael

(guy) how about u stfu,, and instead of believing wat she said of him being mentally ill.. how bout u read the other comments saying its all a joke/prank and so on.. anyways like most people have stated here if u dnt like wats happening in kuwait then GTFO.. and i STILL hate people who say im kuwaiti or from other countries when they are clearly not!! just cuz u were born here does not mean ur kuwaiti!! just cuz uv lived here all ur life does not mean ur kuwaiti!! if u dnt like it then go to AMERICA and have ur AMERICAN DREAM cuz by being an american that means ull have more opportunities…. riiiight??…lol
