Bonchon Chicken is a popular Korean fried chicken and wings restaurant and it’s opening in Kuwait soon. They’ve got locations mostly in Asia but they do have branches in New York and Bahrain as well.
I’ve never eaten there but a friend has and told me their fried chicken is really good so now I’m curious to try it out. They’re opening at the new Dhai Complex in Bida’a which I thought was a sort of a high end food complex so that location choice seems a bit odd. I don’t know when they’re opening exactly so if you do, let me know in the comments below.
Update: According to a reader they might be opening end of February.

I’ve eaten here a lot in the US. This is not your normal KFC or Popeyes fried chicken. It’s very different and they try to make their places more classy so the location makes sense to me. The chicken usually comes in 2 flavors if I remember, garlic or Korean spicy I think. They do bones or strips. It’s very different but delicious so I am excited to hear this.
Can’t wait for this gem to open in Kuwait.
Best fried chicken I have ever had. Tried it in Bangkok, Thailand. You should definitely get the spicy if you’re up for the challenge.
I love this place! I’ve been to it loads of times in NYC, and it’s definitely one of the few new places I’m actually looking forward to eating at.
The location works great! Dhai is a beautiful complex, and I think this is definitely the type of place the complex needs at the moment. I’ve heard that its due to open towards the end of February, beginning of March. Eagerly anticipating it!

I tried it in NYC with a friend a year ago and i still crave it! I really cant wait for it to open in Kuwait. I dont eat KFC so imagine how desperate i am to have it again ! I heard its gonna open mid Feb. i reallllly cant wait! FYI the atmosphere is insane.

I am not the biggest fan of chicken wings, I usually go for boneless/strips, but hands down this is THE BEST CHICKEN WINGS EVER!
I havn’t eaten chicken wings in 4 years since I moved back from the US!

i go to Seoul twice a year for the past 4 years and i never heard of this place…..strange
When I went to Seoul 2 years ago, i asked a lot of my local friends there if this was a real place in Korea, it is not… Its there style of fried chicken, but not actually there… Kinda like there is no Taco Bell’s in Mexico….

usually i would delete them all but they’re not all from the exact same ip address, just similar ones that start with 37.36.xxx.xxx or 37.37.xxx.xxx so can’t really prove they’re the same person.

I agree with the positive comments, I have no connection with Bonchon. They do have most of there restaurants in upmarket locations, although the one in Pattaya Thailand was not too good.

The chicken though! Is not fastfood nor fine dine, its just the perfect place to sit chill and enjoy the food , iv been to the BONchon NYC anddd YUMMMMMMMMM! So happy that its coming to kuwait finally were guna have Good Quality Chicken!

yeah, like I was saying most of the comments here are pretty suspicious and are most likely fake and left by Bonchon since they all have similar IP addresses.
I recently came back from New York and have heard about BonChon so I tried the one in Mid-Town. Korean food is alllll the rave in New York right now, so this specific restaurant came highly recommended to me from a few friends who live there.
Personally, I am not a big fried chicken fan. Always preferred beef. I would like to note however, that the chicken wings I tried in BonChon were hands-down the best I ever had. The best part of it was the sauce which was not the typical buffalo sauce. I ate about 8 chicken wings alone (which is huge for me). To my pleasant surprise, they had beef tacos- and they were FANTASTIC. The cole slaw and seasoned fries topped it. For those who like KFC, this is KFC OPTIMIZED.
I do not know if what is being said about the comments are true, but I wouldn’t be surprised BonChon gets such a reaction (its a pretty much global trend for the foodies of the world) and would be happy to confirm my experience if asked.
Comments aside, if the opening is in February, then let the food speak for itself.

BON CHON is awesome. We eat it in Philippines every time we visit the family. In Bahrain it is more casual than the fast food version in the Philippines though. The Salmon Avocado Ball is the shit!
I’ve personally heard a lot of this place, never tried it though. I’ve seen some pictures from the branch in New York and I really can’t wait to see what these guys have in store for us. It’s about time we start having some decent fried chicken here. Really can’t wait and best of luck to the genius who decided to get them here!
