Guys run over by a car

[YouTube]

965malls uploaded the video above which he shot of some teenagers fighting underneath his building. What makes his video special is the fact a car ends up running those kids over. According to him no one got hurt as a result.

The teenagers fighting bit I can easily relate to since my neighborhood in Salmiya has turned into the ghetto (plus a garbage dump) due to the fact I have a billiard place in the building next door. Fights amongst teenagers and young adults are practically a daily occurrence and women getting harassed by them has also become the norm.

Come to think of it I don’t know why I don’t use my blog to help improve my area by highlighting problems like I previously did [Here]. I’ve recently been considering moving out of my neighborhood because of all the garbage and fights but why should I move? I’ve been on this street for 30 years now and I shouldn’t have to move because the garbage collecting company isn’t collecting the garbage or the fact that there are no longer any street cleaners as well picking up garbage or that the cops don’t care about any of the violations that are happening on the street. I’ve mentioned this before but there is actually a brothel in the building next door and I have to say I’m glad they’re there since they’ve actually cleaned up a bit of the area around their building. Things are so bad I was actually considering hiring my own street cleaner just to take care of the area around my building!

I actually live just down the street from you, and I don’t have any of those problems. The only complaint I have is the guys revving their engines late in the night and peeling out on the main interior road.
As for garbage and fights, my side of the street doesn’t have young guys fighting, and our area is clean, although I agree there aren’t any street cleaners. I hear the garbage trucks come regularly though at night and in the morning, so maybe there is something more to it.

where do you live? I live right next to montecarlo billiard. The sand lot behind it is where all the garbage bins are but if you noticed the trucks come and go and they just empty the garbage bins but there is a huge pile of garbage on the floor that they don’t touch and that pile is growing bigger and bigger. Then the alleyway between my building and montecarlo building is filthy with garbage bags and broken bottles and sand and mud. The ministry came and broke the ground to install cables or something and then instead of putting tiles or cement over it again they just left it sandy. The ministry also removed the black and yellow poles around the sidewalks for some reason and now all the cars park on top of the sidewalks. I really need to take pictures of all this shit.

Nevermind I just checked your blog and realized where you live. You’re like 3 blocks down from my place in the same building where Lama is opening up. Thats why you don’t have any of my streets problems…

“there is actually a brothel in the building next door and I have to say I’m glad they’re there”

You are glad that prostitution lives next door? You should start your clean-up efforts by closing that filth down. Your priorities are messed up.

I also have the issue of teens fighting. One night there were more than 20 teens fighting and jumping over cars, I just called the cops and they came to push them away. That worked fine.
However the brothel next to my building has no sense of cleanliness, respect of our parking spots (which clearly says “private parking” and the fights at 6am every Friday! Can we swap brothels?

hehe our brothel is upper class with their own private parking with security. They even built and opened up their own private entrance through an adjacent building because their previous entrance was near the billiard hall and the girls were getting harassed as they came and left.

Isn’t having a Brothel illegal over there? It’s not like those escort services where they bring in East European girls over in Dubai is it?

if its noticeable enough to get a blog mention, and all the above mentioned amenities Mark referenced, and has not been shut down, i am guessing it must cater to some high rolling clientele.

LOL i would have never thought to see the day with people comparing brothels in Kuwait of all places.

Thanks just made my shitty day, less shitty.

Collect image and video evidence, write a letter and collect signatures of local residents who are also complaining of the same problem and send it all to the municipality or district of Hawalli office.

Just got married recently and started looking for apartments, tell me where you live so I don’t move there by mistake :S

Not really an option here in Kuwait – unless you want to get yourself seriously injured…or worse, Killed.
The best course of action would be to call the police. Recording is good because it can help the police during the investigation.

i was @ the beach one time and saw this parked car (with women inside) being blocked off from behind by a car of guys.

the only problem is, i couldnt tell if they were being harassed, or if they wre enjoying the attention.

Seriously thats a good one :-).

A smart move by the driver if he was the one on the receiving side of the fight.

@ Mark : You could always give a ring to The Baladiya and tell them the condition of your street.

I think it’s wiser to keep hush about the Brothel thing though, coz surely it would be maintained by people in high places.
