Rent a Harley

I’m not a big Harley fan since I prefer sports bikes and Vespas but I know a lot of you might be interested in this. According to a reader it seems you can rent Harleys from the Harley Davidson dealer. This is the email I received with minor editing:

I am sure you might be knowing about this, but just wanted to add in your activities, renting a Harley Davidson. The 2011 models are out and I rented a Fatboy this weekend for only KD72 (KD36 a day for a KD6,895 bike is really good). There are three other bikes available for rent as well: The Sportster Nightster for KD54, Street Glide and Road King Classic for KD81.

Please note these prices are for 2 day rental since they are closed on Fridays. You need to rent the bikes on Thursday and return them on Saturday and you get these special rates. Or you can rent on a daily bases and the rates are: Nightster – KD30, Fatboy – KD40, Street Glide and Road King Classic – KD45.

It was the best experience with friends having different bikes like Ducati, MV Agusta, Kawasaki, Honda, however the Harley stood out and was an amazing and comfortable ride throughout the day. Looking forward to rent another one again and try out all their models.

The staff at Harley Davidson is also very friendly and helped me select the best ride. You can contact Mr. Marlon, he will help you in the best way possible – 24823041 /2 / 3.

To rent a bike all you need to have is a valid bike license, your civil ID, the rental amount and KD250 on your credit card (or cash) as a deposit. All bikes are fully insured and they also provide you with a helmet (6 different helmets to choose from).

That’s actually not a bad activity especially with this great weather. So I’ve gone ahead and added this post on renting Harleys to the activities page.

Thanks Fahad

mark , i think thats a great idea .. know why?
because if you want to buy a harley and you dont know which to choose you can rent them for like 1 day each (you gonna spend over 5 thousand on bike so 150 KD wont be big problem) and then you will definitly will have the best bike for you.

am i right ??!!!!!

This is the first time I’m hearing of bike-rental in Kuwait so surely its awesome for first timers and pros alike.

To answer your question on sports bikes, I’m sure they don’t rent out. Seeing teens (and adults) with shorts, flip-flops and no helmets pulling wheelies in the middle of traffic – you can see why it can lead to a big mess.

Hi guys,

Just for your information, they do rent out sports bikes, like honda, kawasaki, yamaha infact they have the Can-am spyders too. their cost varies, the process is simple like renting a car and the rates start from 40 KD per day. they have all new models. the disadvantage with them might be the insurance part, God forbid, if one meets with an accident, you have no coverage, where as its not the case with Harley Davidson.

So ride safe… if anyone wants more details on renting bikes, contact me on [email protected] and ill give you the details.

P.S i am not gonna list the numbers here, coz i dont wanna advertise something without mark’s approval.

like the car driving license .. but you should learn first, get your estemara and go to Tri-Star company they have the only school in Kuwait .. They located in Al Soor St. just next to Al Khalegya Bld. in Sharq

thanksss Ramez i think i know the one its in the corner beside the traffic light intersection, is that right..? thanks again
is it easy learning to drive a bike..?

Are you sure it has all the same criteria?
I was hoping it’d be a little relaxed considering there isn’t as much demand for a bike license as opposed to a car’s license.

Procedures are same as to avail any license here in kuwait
1st paper work, sign by the person in your company Ithimadtaukya
Then maroor of ur location, they will guid you about the process & eye tests
Once done! You’ll get your Istimara
Then online & physical(ride) test

I got my license in my 2nd trial
Currently I’m looking for bike (Cruise if possible) on rent for work purpose only. Kindly suggest the bike rentals please, Thank you.

is the rate strictly by day or is there a mileage thing? I was thinking it would be great to rent a couple with friends and ride them to Bahrain or something.

Mark is right, unless they give Tawkeeel (a paper for the border saying that they allow you to travel with it) but i dont think the dealer would give you, but there is no harm in asking…

You can’t ride bikes on the causeway; you’ll be turned around. So you’ll have to ride to the causeway, find a trailer, put your bikes on it, drive across the causeway, then ride to Bahrain and do the reverse on the way back.

Dude, thats not a biking season at all.. few weeks and we will bury our bikes because of the heat, and as long as the HD has no covers on the engine and its twin V engine so no one will be able to ride in the summer heat ..
For me I used to ride at summer but from 05:00 AM to maximum to 08:00 AM

Why is the price such a huge ripoff? I mean i know most stuff in Kuwait is a ripoff especially luxury items like this and not a necessity like for example a car rental can be, but Bikes are way cheaper than cars so they should at least have “realistic” ripoff price lol like say 10-20KD MAX. A comparably priced car for instance rents for anywhere from 6-12KD a day.

Also, who actually bothers to take a class to learn to ride a bike JUST so they can rent one for a few days a year? that’s funny, only in Kuwait would ppl do all this to gezz in salmiya and pose like douchebags without helmets and protection LOL then they forget abt it when the next habba arrives and forget even how to ride a bike! What a waste of a great hobby.

Mark if you want to ride HD, ride the VRSC series, V-ROD is an example. Other HDs are simple expensive pieces of junk. Sorry HD fans 🙂

I Dont count the VROD from the H-D series 🙂

I dont know, I dont see it a custom or classic bike, not even a cruising one.
But ofcourse its a monster

It is a power cruiser. It is modern in every aspect and it is a good bike by all means even sports bike riders likes it.

Now HD guys don’t like it cos they have closed mind and don’t want to change the old things. I mean people use FI, DOHC, liquid cooling for decades but it seems that HD just found it. I think they need another 100 year to find something called traction or wheelie control !

Ride safely.

I am a lebanese resident living in Kuwait; I would like to know what are the requirements to get a bike license? is it necessary as well to have a minimum of 450 KWD to get the license??

Anyone know the actual process to get the License here in Kuwait? been riding for about 30 years total, have a stateside license.

Is this still up?? I’m trying to find places were I could rent a yamaha r3 or ninja 400 or gsxr 250
