New traffic fines circulating are most likely false

I got a lot of emails from people with a link to a website that supposedly has the new traffic fines listed but everyone who sent me the link sent me the link to the same website. Since I haven’t read it anywhere else yet then it’s most likely a list that someone came up with themselves. I’ll only believe it if one of the local Arabic newspapers print it as well.

Note: They’ve updates the fines in that link since yesterday.

I think the new regulations are extracted from Jordanian law. So they still need to update the wording and the figures. for example if you check #7 it says driving a vehicle with Jordanian registration rather than a Kuwaiti! so the 500 dinars is probably also jordanian… which is 200 kwd! still too much!

Mark I have also been hearing rumors that ppl who have issued driving license are been cancelled as their job position don’t qualify to have it?

That was printed today, so Alshahed probably printed it using the same source. I would trust it more if it was AlQabas, or even AlWatan.

” No.4 Eating,drinking, smoking….etc wile driving ”

LMAO, yes, that does sound soooooo official and authentic.

What does the ‘etc’ constitute? Operating the Radio? Looking up the sunroof? Digging your nose? Applying lipstick while looking into the vanity mirror?

The Ministry just issued a press release declaring that those fines are not in placed and -if I understood correctly- they are studying the subject and what has spread around may have been one of the proposals being discussed.

Kuwait Traffic Law can’t be changed by anyone even the minister of interior. If there is a change it needs to be approved first by the majority in the parliament.

@Meshx86 HELLO?!!! Alwatan has turned into the tabloid journalism for some years now. It is no longer considered by Kuwaitis as a reliable source of news.

@3azeez,

i would be thankful if you can inform me with a trust worthy news paper, so i won’t waste my time on craps

regards

p.s: am going to stop by a traffic police patrol today and ask him about the new laws, that is the only way.

Does rule #7 applies to those who is for example coming from saudi and using their saudi car to drive around? If yes, y do they have to mentioned especially “jordanian car” is the car manufactured or made in jordan???

I think for it to be official it has to be published in Kuwait Alyoum. Anyone read anything about this law in Kuwait alyoum?

the previous one had something about driving a jordanian car with foreign license.. wtf? lol .. who couldn’t make out it was fake :/

I know the lawyer lady got beat up rather badly on parking laws, but what does she think about this?

doesn’t anyone see the word ‘Jordanian’ there. Its a hoax!!! seriously why would anyone put the word Jordanian in Kuwaiti law!!

A lot of people are saying Western expats won’t be phased by the new laws but my husband has received calls from Western expats currently behind bars and are facing deportation so no one is safe anymore.
