First time I saw this on a car I was like damn that guy must have been doing some major offroading. Second time I saw it on a car I was like wait, it can’t be mud, must be paint primer. After seeing it a bunch of times on various cars I realized this was actually a paint job. It seems some people find this cool.. I don’t understand why.

i reckon some smart ass is using a spray gun on people’s cars, before they then go off and drive through a sandstorm
…like putting cellophane on a toilet seat
I should probably have said a spray gun filled with glue…
these all saudi (some kuwaiti) cars , the owner usually apply this special paint to prevent scratching the front of the car from long drives and small rocks and insects
You gotta be jokin’ me, I saw some 10 cars in Dubai painted in the same style. Is it like an army-wannabe style? cuz army vehicles look like that here.

Hmmm…..is it just me or are these cars perfect for terrorists or crazy drivers?? License plates dont show!
its an army car! Kuwait Army paint its car like that, i know some People works at the army they have andcruzer with that paint style .
isn’t that dangerous to have paint splattered over the windshield?
I saw the same thing two days ago and thought it was dirt!
Well after writing my pervious post some of my college at work told me that its mud , it goes when you wash it by water , people who travel in car put it to protect the car from scratches, dust ,oils and stuff.. so loo7a is right:P
college = colleague
well, when my friends drove my car from Kuwait to the U.A.E, they put Fairy Liquid (for dishes)over the entire front end. this was so the paint wouldnt be sand-blasted while driving through the desert. The next day i took it to the car wash and got the sand-insect infested gook off. the paint… not only tacky, soooo not stylish!
boredom can do wonders
What ever1 else said…
yeah i thought they were offroading too but then i noticed that the headlights were clean :/
really fugly look..
Looks like a shit stain to me! hehehe!
I thought it was illegal. That’s one of the the army’s official colors.
Neither do I. I’ve seen it here too and it’s just absolutely hideous.
It’s paint protection used for cars who travel long distances across the desert. Usually its for a car going to travel or a car which just came back from a long trip.
I had to drive frequently to wafra to visit Joint Operations (Oil company in Wafra) and after a year there was no paint left on the company car, got fined a few times because the license plate was silver and you could’nt tell if the the lights were on at night. So for people who frquently travel through saudi this is a damn good option to keep your car in shape, and legal for that matter.
People apply this so the car’s paint wont chip during the long travel during the summer.
heh, i guess you learn something everyday :p
wow! i love it…ill make sure my ASTON MARTIN DB9 gets it too π ……
Looks someone went to have buffet at Chi Chi’s and let one loose on that poor Toyota Grand Cherokee.
Guys, its simple, you take it to a station somewhere along the border in Saudi, what they do is they put like a little layer of water droplets on the car, then blast on some really reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally fine sand on to it. Thats what gives it the mud effect, the sand then sticks to the car body, just like when your baking with flour and u have some water on ur hands. This just protects the car from chips, bugs, bigger sand particles and so on when travelling on a highway or cross country. Trust me it does wonders and is much better than the fairy thing people use cause it takes away some of the car shine. Whats amazing is that even when your doing 200+ the sand wont fly off the car and all you do when you pull into your destination is just hose down the car. People even cover the entire windshield and use the wipers so they can see thru, I swear this ugly look for a 4 hour ride does wonders to your paint job. I recommend it! π

Yep…it’s both a style and a nice way to keep the car in good shape. One usually faces sand/dust storms when travelling long distances in Gulf nations and the sand flying against the cars chips the paint away from the front and this method (and another method of applying liquid detergent such as Lux or Fairy) helps keep the car’s paint the way it is.
I wonder what happened to car bras…
This is cheaper… and actually looks better…
More practical, easier to remove and apply…
This paint is for traveling long ways its just like a shield or something like that so when ur traveling nothing would scratch ur car .. rough sand small rocks ETC π
Actually this is not a paint job but some what of a protective coating people use to protect their vehicles from sandblasting and getting their paint jobs worn out. You would normally see them put liquid detergent on their hoods, or even grease! this trend is new, especially in saudi and qatar…looks like it caught on faster cuz people got sick of lemony smelling dish washing detergents!
