Marks & Spencer in Kuwait is pretty strange. Its been open for a really long time and they seem to be doing pretty well but they’ve yet to open up in a popular mall. I usually pass by Marks & Spencer for their food section, they’ve got a ton of munchies and random items like jams, salad dressings and cornflakes. Their food packaging is also beautifully designed so I just buy random stuff because they look good. If you haven’t been to Marks & Spencer its worth checking out, they’re located right next to Marina Mall, I am not sure they have another branch elsewhere.

yeah i do agree,, many good stuff to buy from M&S, and i believe there is no other branch.
they’re here by alfatim which is emirati and they are not doing any good I heard.
how much did they pay you to say this?
they are doing VERY WELL, yes they are MAF Group. from UAE. and they will open soon in a new mall.
they only bring food that will expire shortly!
Thats what I thought until I noticed the production dates. The items sometimes have a short life span for example produced in May 2008 expires in September 2008 etc..
london’s marks is MUCH better…its one of the only things i eat there
i love marks foods but i hardly find anything i like in kuwaits branch!
Seems to me they send all M&S cast offs to Kuwait. Have bought food stuff from there and when i got home it had passed sell by date! Sometimes have looked in frozen section and some of the stuff is not quite frozen! Very dubious!
Too expensive and usually not that great.
I love M&S food and when i miss london i head over their tiny place in salmiya trying to see if i can curb my craving with something. Pretty much all of the time they have nothing i would like until they brought the frozen food section 🙁 Its mostly all fish and frozen fruits. In may i went to dubai wella in festival city a huge selection of pastas and frozen pizzas were there plus a cafe and all their crisps (the hand cooked sweet potato ones r the best… also the mixed veggies ones but only in Dubai) so i loaded up with them (and with microwavable ravioli ready, and microwavable mash potatoe) and they had their lovely cartons of mango and apple juice which i had packs of. i come back to Kuwait, head straight over to them, check the freezers, and there is nothing of the things i bought 🙁 not even one single pizza… i found one uncooked ravioli though.
Ba7rain’s food section is great though. If u miss london M&S and cant make it over there, i suggest you board the jazeera in the morning, go to festival city, get ur groceries and come back at night to enjoy them rather than going to marina mall and trying t find a spot to park and climb the stairs only to find nothing to buy!
Their coffee rocks and so does the blackberry/apple pie. If you ever visit the M&S in London, you realize that Kuwait’s is like a baqala.
I wish they would open other stores too.
Lemon drizzle cake and blueberry muffins are the best in the UK 🙂
I love to go to shop at M & S in Kuwait. Their finger food is most handy on the go. Shame they still don’t do any microwaveable meals though! Back in London I would thrive on these for my TV dinners.
For me M & S trumps Debenhams. There is some truth about global financials at M & S but I reckon they’ve now turned a corner. Three years back there were massive lay-offs in Belgium but now M & S have streamlined their operations and are in much better shape.
What we need to see more of is 7-11s and M & S superettes downtown making it easier for the working crowd to do their groceries etc. during the lunch break. On a similar note, a Pret or two bang in the centre of the city would be received very well, indeed. As things stand today there’s no decent sandwich shop you could go to anywhere in Safat.
True. They also have a great section with soaps and lotions that are just adorable.
i got lucky with a grilling skillet once with a side drain,
works like a charm,
It’s still owned mostly owned and run by zionists, no matter what they tell you… but i must admit they’re food and clothing is very good quality.. but not the range that they pick to be sold in kuwait.
Ee it is a well known fact or a myth inah the proceeds of their saturday sales goes to the isra2eli army. Fa ilee ma yabee flosah itroo7 ihnak la yeroo7 on Saturday o khalas ;p
They signed with 360 mall.

If you thought that starbucks support zionism was a myth then watch this video:

While us arabs do daily shopping at marks and spencer, english people make a demonstration against marks and spencer’s support of zionism outside one of its stores in london…. aren’t we pathetic… we even make sure people see our green marks and spencer plastic bags to show off cause we think its “kesh-kha”.
i think i have said enough on this issue.
forgot to add the link to the marks and spencer demonstration….

I wish they would expand their food section even more. Thats the only thing i like from M&S.
Yeah M&S supports zionism, but so do most arabs, intentionally and not intentionally.
All I know is their bra fitting service is the toast of town. At the end of the day how does their political inclination matter as long as they are able to give good quality merchandise and service to customers. Move on think practical.
