When I travel I wear what I call my travel watches. They are cheap digital watches which no one would want to steal in case I get mugged (don’t ask). For the past 2 years I’ve been using my Casio calculator watch but I recently decided I wanted a watch that could at least tell me the temperature. So after a bit of searching I decided to get the Timex Skiathlom. Its a very rare and strange (i.e. ugly) looking watch from the late 80’s. I used to have one back in 1990 and I figured I would get one. I had forgotten the name of the watch but after a bit of help from a Timex forum I managed to find the watch on eBay in excellent condition. It cost me around KD10 which isn’t too bad. Since there is barely any information on this watch online, I decided to scan the manual and take a clear frontal shot so that if anyone searches for this watch in the future they will find at least some info.

The watch is actually not that bad looking.. lol I am in market for a digi watch too. which does more than just tell time. But i want something good looking for normal everyday use.. Any suggestions?
Ah… I still remember the day where my book was stolen rather than my backpack. Such a good book.

If you have good haggling skills, you can actually get them in Kuwait cheaper than the Amazon prices.
I picked up 2 from Souk Al-Watiya. Paid around 40 kd each.
It kinda looks like one of those transformer watches they used to sell here in the 80’s, remember those ? π

Mr Pedro the idea behind a travel watch is that it should be cheap. KD300 isn’t cheap (I know it is when you compare it to some watches but generally speaking it isnt)
fits ur ugly shoes perfectly
Yeah your Crocs look nicer.

I Own one of these watches. I got it for a present when it came out and I still prefer this watch over any other I have ever owned.
I’ve been running a blog on my watch collection and posted about the Timex Skiathlom I have (https://https://whichwatchtoday.blogspot.com/2012/01/time-skiathlon.html). It seems that this watch is one of the most popular that on the site and so through research I found your post. Just wanted to say thanks for uploading the users manual – a very handy source of information!
Just revived my Skiathalom with a 2016 after many years – heading for the high mountains. Thanks for the manual; indespensible for setting it!
