Paragliding Festival

paragliding

If you’ve ever wanted to try powered paragliding this might be the easiest way to do it. Starting from April 24th and lasting for 10 days you will be able to experience paragliding over the Gulf Road accompanied by the most skilled pilots. A 15 minute journey will cost KD40 and you will fly at an altitude of around 200 meters. If you’re interested you need to book your seat by calling 22621766 or 94004335.

The previous time I paraglided in Kuwait (picture on top) it cost me KD30 for a 30 minute flight but it took place down in Khieran.

15 minutes is way too short. Way way way too short. Should have been 30 minutes for 40KD (and even that’s still on the expensive side).

Where are their licenses to operate kept? Are they licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority or the Municipality? Just wondering.

Dear Miss Lisa …

Thanks to these questions. We would like to utilize that all pilots hold a certificate of Kalt paragliding and approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of Kuwait, and you can be sure of that before boarding the plane, and that all aircraft registered with the Civil Aviation Administration and subject to regular maintenance by technicians who are experienced, in addition to some pilots working in Kuwait Airways, for example; – Captain Mohammed Al-Kandari and Captain Saad el Khalaf and Captain Sultan Al Anzi. For further inquiries, please contact us on 94004335 thank you

Good to know and yes, I was worried about dying. There have been several cases in Kuwait where people have died in similar aircraft because of Kuwait’s unique wind currents.

Thank you for your professional and friendly response! Great PR.

Do you have any info on these cases? I haven’t read about anyone dying from paragliding in Kuwait and am curious to find out more on this.

Ghanim Al-Othman and Kuwaiti friend. I think around 1999 or early 2000’s. I’m not sure if it was a paraglider or a similar aircraft. … and it wasn’t his first accident.

Ghanim was well-known in Kuwait. He navigated alone around the globe in his boat.

you’re wrong – we do! Don’t you realise that the price is reflective of the value of the type of human being?

I’m not sure I’d be up for the actual paragliding myself, but I’d love to go watch, at the very least. It says that it will be over the gulf road, but what area?

they take off from the plot of land near safir hotel (opposite lenotre and abdul wahab restaurants). They will then fly out towards the sea, around the kuwait towers and all the way down to the amricani hospital before turning back again.
