Hyena on the 6th Ring Road

hyena

Yesterday a photo of a hyena walking down the 6th Ring Road near 360 Mall went viral. The hyena had escaped from the home of the owner and was wandering around scared before ending up near the 6th Ring Road.

The Kuwait Zoo and the Ministry of Interior sent a team to search and capture the animal which they ended up doing. The hyena is now at the Kuwait Zoo being taken care of.

Just a quick update. This is a threatened striped-hyena. This species has been extirpated (made locally extinct) from most of its Middle Eastern range. We are working with the zoo to find suitable sanctuary. We relocated another hyena that had been found wondering in Abu Al Hasaniya a couple of months ago, but it took us six months to find a place.

Please don’t buy wildlife. Keep wildlife wild.

The last time I was at the kuwait zoo was over 10 years ago and the sight wasn’t very pretty. And therefore I never went back. I also recommend my family and friend to not waste there time going to such a horrid place, because if you truly care and love animals, you’d know that the zoo here is more of a torture camp.

I only hope this pool lil hyena is safe out there. or should be sent to a place it will be looked after.

Animal torture is something most people do for a cheap thrill.
what comes to my mind when hear of or witness animal torture, is, ” Human beings r not cared for in this place, lol ….how do you expect animals to get a decent treatment”..

I totally agree with John, and i believe wild life should not be imported to be kept as pets. I mean someone who has such a sick hobby, is SURELY psychologically challenged.

I guess people at the authorities are asleep when sickos like these import wild animals and get clearance with Wasta.

This should STOP!!
