K’S PATH Urgently Need Dog and Cat Food

kspath

I got the below by email from K’S PATH:

We regret to share that early last morning the storage room in our shelter caught fire and burned down. Fortunately all our staff and animals are safe and did not suffer any injuries or burns as the storage room is located outside the animal sheltering building. Thanks to the speedy response of the Wafra fire department, the fire was contained and doused well in time. We are presently investigating the electrical problems that caused the fire, the electrical damages, and measures to avert future accidents. Cleaning and clearing is in process at the shelter.

Meanwhile, we urgently need dog and cat supplies since the fire burned all dog and cat food in our storage room. Please help us and spread the word to enable us to feed our 200 dogs and cats.

We need:

(1) Pedigree dog dry food (kibble)

(2) Whiskas or Friskies cat dry food (kibble)

(3) Cat’s Pride cat litter

If you are able to donate, please email us at [email protected] to arrange for a pick-up of the supplies. Anything you donate will be much appreciated!

People who care for animals in general care also for humans, id the people that don’t care for animals that don’t care for humans or any other living thing.
loving a living creature is nothing bad Animal or human we are all gods creation.

Since when does caring about animals mean we’re not caring about people? Why can’t we care about more than one thing? And why, when people show compassion towards something, are they condemned and told to care about something else? Some people care about people, some animals, some kids, some poor people, some Syria, some Africa, etc. And I say we be thankful for ALL people who care about something. At least someone is.

Why would you care more for humans than animals? Please explain. I mean, when in a country where war is raging and choices have to be made, I tend to agree. But when in a country where both could be taken very well care of, I am curious to know why we should care more for humans than for animals.

Couldn’t agree with you more. The Western Black rhino is extinct and the Northern White and the Javan rhinos are on the brink of extinction. And it’s not because of evolution. We humans are doing this. It’s our responsibility. Think about it: 7 billion people vs 58-60 Javan rhinos. You don’t have to start caring for the rhinos. Give the random kitten some water. It might save its life, or call a shelter if you spot a stray dog. It will save a valuable life and it will make you feel really good.

There are humans outside this country living lives worse than the lives of animals in shelters.

Your comment is disgusting. Then again, this is 248am.

Your face is disgusting. 🙂 lol, ok not really but I thought it would be a funny response; I’m sure your face is quite pleasing. The two don’t necessarily exclude one another. People need help; help the people. Animals need help; help the animals.

My sympathies to K’S PATH for their loss. As a supporter, I strongly recommend they review their fire safety policy. This is the second fire they have had in two years. Last year I remember their shelter was affected by a fire and they also lost a number of animals.

Hope they take care of this in future.

there is a popular view going around that those who hate aniimals hate humans, and therefore those who love animals must also love humans. this is not true. People love animals because they are helpless, have no autonomy, cant voice contrary opinions and are basically not equal to us. These are psychologically under developed beings that can’t handle helping an equal human being. It’s the same mentality that can’t handle the idea that some refugees have smart phones, that maids aren’t always grateful and may want to do harm to those that harm them, that expats might be ‘ungrateful’ for the fact that their passports are taken. Loving animals while reducing humans to the state of animals.

Always be suspicious of people that love helpless animals above and beyond an autonomous human.

Jo, this is the most outrageous bunch of nonsense I’ve ever heard. And evidence Kuwait needs serious education in terms of animal care.

First, it’s not a ‘popular view’ that those who harm animals eventually cause harm to people, it’s a factual statement with supporting evidence.

“Animal abusers are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against people. Deviant behaviors such as animal abuse generally originate from a traumatic childhood. The American Psychiatric Association considers animal cruelty as one of the diagnostic criteria of conduct disorder. The fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) defines conduct disorder as “a repetitive and persistent pattern of behavior in which the basic rights of others or major age appropriate societal norms or rules are violated.” Conduct disorder is found in those who abuse animals and abuse people. ”

“71% of pet-owning women entering women’s shelters reported that their batterer had injured, maimed, killed or threatened family pets for revenge or to psychologically control victims; 32% reported their children had hurt or killed animals.”

I would certainly do just as much for a needy person as I would for a needy animal. But we’re fortunate there are so many more charities that help people… allowing others to invest in helping animals or any other cause they believe in.

Thank you very much Mark for your continued support and for helping us raise awareness and donations for our animals.

I also wanted to say that we agree and we are currently working with electrical engineers to make sure we never have fires again. However, the last fire was 5 years ago and we had rebuilt our shelter stronger and more fire safe. This storage room is outside the shelter, it was a temporary housing unit and that’s why we think it caught fire. Thankfully our shelter was very mildly affected and we had no animal loss and we are working on fixing the damages to make sure our fire safety measures are stricter. Unfortunately, the Wafra area has quite unpredictable surges in electricity and that is what causes the fires, but we are working very hard to make this stop.

Again we thank everyone who has contributed and supported us throughout all our years and we promise to continue to serve the community, animals and the environment to the best of our abilities.

People who care for animals, in general care also for humans, they are more giving and understanding, not to mention a lot happier. People that don’t care for animals or any other living thing don’t care for humans either, they are selfish.
Loving a living creature is nothing bad Animal or Human we are all God’s creation.
