OpaqueMenuBar

transparent menu

Just found this great little software that will make the menu bar in Leopard non-transparent. Now if only I can find a tool that swaps out the new dock for the old one. I am seriously not liking Leopard. [Link]

I have had 4 problems since i upgraded.
1. I can’t empty the trash anymore , its refusing to delete them.
2. it doesnt re-connect to hidden wirless lans, you need to make new connection everytime.
3. it is slower to load.
4. its slower to resume from standby

Geek solution: Make software that changes the opaqueness of the bar.
Simple solution: Make a background with a white bar on top.

Simple by design.
Keep it simple.

What other things you didn’t like about Leopard? Just to inform those people who didn’t upgrade yet, and can’t wait to get their hands on the new OS.

well my biggest complaint is the speed. It seems slower and jerkier on both my Macbook and my dual 2ghz G5 at work. Another issue is the networking, connecting to other comptuers on the network is more complicated and uglier.

Overall though i think its the same as fadis issue, system is slower, its slower to boot up and slower to wakeup from sleep.

i kinda like leopard .. i have a 3gig of ram in my macbook pro so i dont see the lag except with the dock .. to remove the new glassy dock, type this in the terminal:

defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES
killall Dock

and to get it back, type this :

defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean NO
killall Dock
