Hey Mark, I was just wondering since you’ve been a Mac owner for long.. I made the switch between Windows and Mac a couple of weeks ago and got a PowerBook G4. It is really impressive but since I have updated to 10.4.2, my internal modem went silent! I have reinstalled Tiger 10.4 again and still my modem doesn’t nake any sound while connecting. It connects just fine with outstanding speeds but the thing’s bothering me because it used to work without any problem. I know this isn’t that big of a deal but you know how it feels when you expect everything to be working just fine. So, I was wondering if you have any idea what might be causing this problem.
Thanks.
well make sure the sound is turned on.
Go to system prefrences, then network, then to your internal modem settings. under the section modem make sure the sound is on.
