Alfa Romeo 8C

I spotted an Alfa Romeo 8C on the Gulf Road today and it looked stunning. Usually some cars look really sexy in pictures but then when you see them in person they’re so so but in this case the 8C looks gorgeous in the pictures and even better in person. I know the Alfa Romeo dealership shutdown in Kuwait so I am guessing the guy imported the car so I wonder where it gets serviced? Then again, if you can afford to import a $230,000 car you probably fly in a mechanic.

they’re gonna open a new dealership, and the guy who has the alfa romeo 8c is the son of the new dealer… al mo3asherji who owns mcdonalds here are the new dealers…

Looks like a Ferrari.

I never understood why Kuwaiti’s hated Alfa’s? Every I asked said something about the car not being able to handle the weather in Kuwait.

A.Albaz: It’s true, I knew someone with an Alfa 166. Whenever the temperature outside reached 50 degrees the AC wouldn’t work. It was some kind of failsafe feature which isn’t very practical in Kuwait.

I have 156 the first one that came to Kuwait in 98
the ac is ok in the summer if the car was parked in the shade , but if it was under the sun , it would take a long time to cool the inside .
as far as the rest it was fun to drive . Now it needs few repairs and new tires to be able to drive it .

also most Alfas came with manual transmission , not fun to drive in traffic and traffic light . And most people here like automatics . In other part of the gulf you see more cars with manual transmission .

alphas have cool styling usually. however, they, like many other europan but non-german; are not popular because they almost always have had quality issues and this in turn didn’t refelct well on their re-sale values..

its really nice car mashallah mix bain ferrari and maserati o limited production 500 in the world 7adha 3ajeeba ;p .. this car belongs to someone live in abdullah alsalem near alsayer houses

It looks really sexy in a really feminine way. Wouldn’t be caught dead in this garage queen even if i had the money.

This alfa romeo 8c competizione in q8 is 1 of 500 units produced..n i’ve got pics of it which I shall email to Mark later on…n it belongs to someone who can afford to get the dealership here in q8!

It will have to be serviced at Al Zayani, at basically it is a Maserati GTS underneath and the diagnostic equipment is exactly the same. I heard that there is 2 in Kuwait. I saw a few at the factory last year and it looks awesome in candy red.

The alfa romeo 8C is exactly as the maserati from engine tell interior. but its very rare in kuwait and its very expensive. approximately 85000 KD and it doesnt worth it !

I know I said I would email Mark the pics but didnt as yet…but not to worry..I spotted it at the Concours D’Elegance by the crescent…

I own an Alfa 156 Sport V6 24V. It was standing idle for a couple of years and died (battery, gas, etc.) Of course Bosch (ex alfa) garage is toooo expensive. So I took it to a place my uncle recommended in Rai. Changed the gas pump, battery, filters and fixed dents in the door, and also replaced all 4 tires. Everything together cost me under 300KD. I drove it and it felt awesome! I think if it was an American car it woul have been a lost cause πŸ˜‰
As for A/C its true. In summer you have to wait a while to get the car cooled. I’m thinking of doing the V-Cool treatment and see if it helps.

Good to hear someone’s getting the dealership again. Hopefully they’ll be better than the previous ones.
