Alghanim Automotive Acquires Ford

ford

Last month I posted about a rumor that Alghanim was acquiring the Ford dealership for Kuwait and now it turns out that rumor was true. Ford sent out an email over the weekend letting their customers know that Alghanim is now the official dealer for their cars in Kuwait. Here is a link to that [Letter]

This means Alghanim now have the following car brands split between their two three automotive divisions:

Alghanim Automotive
Chevrolet
Cadillac

Alghanim Auto
Ford
Lincoln

Alghanim Motors
Honda
Lotus

Update: Added Lincoln to the list. Also a reader made me realize that Alghanim Auto is not short for Alghanim Automotive but is in fact a completely different division. So updated post now reflects that.

Thanks Osama

wil this mean anything to the current Ford user, In terms of service , spareparts, artes and charges……
Is Alghanim better coz i had no problems with the old company?

I bought my Ford Focus back in 2009 from Alwazzan, now when I want to service it I should go to Alghanim?
or do we have two dealers now?

GOOD NEWS !!

AMG WON A COURT CASE !!

! AMG REMAINS TO BE THE SOLE DEALER FOR FORD IN KUWAIT.

AMG WON A COURT CASE IN KUWAIT WHICH STOPS ALGHANIM (OTHERS) FROM SELLING FORD WITHIN KUWAIT.

AMG IS POPULAR FOR SELLING FORD CARS IN A REASONABLE PRICE IN KUWAIT.

HAVING AMG AS THE DEALER WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER OPTION FOR US THAN HAVING ALGHANUM AUTO.

IT SEEMS RELATED AUTHORITIES HAVE ASKED ALGHANIM TO CLOSE DOWN ALL FORD ASSOCIATED OPERATIONS.

SEEMS ALGHANIMS WERE ASKED TO REMOVE ALL FORD SIGNBOARDS.

THUS, THE FORD SIGN BOARDS AND LOGOS DISPLAYED ON ALGHANIM SHOWROOMS AND SERVICE CENTERS CANNOT BE SEEN AND ARE WRAPPED AND COVERED NOW.

Fords letter never once specifies that Al Ghanim is taking it instead of Al Wazzan.Could it be possible that both will be Ford dealers now like the way they operate in the US?

Actually the letter does state that Alghanim is taking over:

—————-

As a valued Ford customer, we want to inform you of an important change in your Ford dealership representation in Kuwait.

With immediate effect, Alghanim Auto, a part of the Alghanim Industries group of companies, is appointed as a new Ford importer-dealer in Kuwait, offering sales and service support to Ford customers in the country.

—————-

“important change in your Ford dealership representation in Kuwait”

“With immediate effect, Alghanim Auto, a part of the Alghanim Industries group of companies, is appointed as a new Ford importer-dealer in Kuwait”

Al Wazzan can no longer import any FORD vehicles and once they sell the current stock of around 1000 Cars they will suspend operations completely.

not to nitpick, but the letter says; as ‘a’ new Ford importer dealer which could imply there are others. Had they said ‘the’ then it would be different.
no?

The title is misleading, I was shocked to read that ALghanim Acquires Ford, you should have written Ford Dealership

Hi Mark,
I think that Alghanim Automotive and Alghanim Auto are two different companies under the same group. They do have different company logos.

So it would be more this : –

Alghanim Automotive
Chevrolet
Cadillac

Alghanim Auto
Ford
Lincoln

Alghanim Motors
Honda
Lotus

Hey Mark, sorry to be ‘that’ guy, but you’ve got a typo on the post title. It’s acquires not aquires. 🙂

Some genius really deserves a big prize and ceremony for naming two different divisions Auto and Automotive. You can’t make this stuff up.

This is pure leading to monopoly market ! There will be no competitive if only one organisation has so many dealership !

Any particular reason why it was taken from Wazzan ?

Do not get confused with such INCOMPLETE information.
Go to Ford Middle East Site
Locate a dealer…. The link is as below….

https://www.me.ford.com/en/kwt/locate-a-dealer

Type in a location like SHUWAIKH and search

That shows Arabian Motors Group WLL -3 times and
Alghanim Auto only once.

There we are, why we encourage such immature assumptions ?

No confusions !

Why can’t we find authentic information from Ford Middle East Website?

1, Please go to this ford url and search

https://www.me.ford.com/en/kwt/locate-a-dealer

Search for location SHUWAIKH

Where, Arabian Motors Group is shown present and active in 3 locations and AlGhanim auto in one.

2, Please go to Lincoln URl and do the same

https://www.me.lincoln.com/en/kwt/locate-a-dealer

Select Country – Kuwait
Select Any Location

Where Arabian Motors Group is listed
AlGhanim Auto is not mentioned

This is the actual information as per Ford Middle East Site

The Ford Middle East website is being run by lazy Arabs.

P.S. it takes ages to get a certain location updated on Google Maps, they’ll have to get an approval from Google which can take months.

And they did mention that Alghanim is now the official Ford distributor:

An article from Ford Motor Company:
https://www.at.ford.com/news/cn/Pages/Ford%20Appoints%20Alghanim%20Auto%20as%20a%20New%20Importer-Dealer%20in%20Kuwait.aspx

You have the temerity to say “lazy Arabs” , yet go on to blame Google for taking months to approve a location update. Is this not a case of “lazy Americans”?

Also, to be honest, you sound like a realy stupid dickhead.

It has been confirmed by insiders of both organizations that the two dealers will stay and will compete just like in the US. Cars can be serviced at any of the dealers service centers just like in the US. This was due to the new law passed by parliament recently no more exclusive dealership in Kuwait. As a person with knowledge in the auto industry I can call you that not only Ford will be taking this move, other auto makers are also in the process of opening multiple dealerships/re sellers in Kuwait. Very soon other news will be out….

Mark is wrong !
He is not an official spokes person of any of these entities involved either.

Ford will never make any mistakes or delays in updating their websites. Updates are prompt and hourly they included Alghanim Auto just in the LAST week and left AMG intact.

It looks we have two Ford dealerships now.
Presumably now on a long legal battle will emerge and let us wait and watch for a winner or winners.

However, now for Ford customers, Arabian Motors is the safe place to go.

Seems Alghanim has in stock only oil and filters borrowed from their Bumper-to-Bumper stock for servicing FORD cars. Nothing more. Except a big sign board NOW Alghanim have No cars-No Parts-No expertise.

I’m not sure why you’re getting upset over this but like I said, this isn’t an overnight thing, Alghanim don’t even have a showroom built so obviously there will be a transition period where both dealers overlap until the new dealer becomes established. The legal battles with Ford were already fought and the outcome is the dealership swapping hands.

Hi Mark !

Again you are wrong !

Seems, there never been any legal battle on this between any of the parties involved this far.

Seems, AlGhanim is an additional importer-distributor-dealer

based on the New law passed in the assembly in Feb 2016 which allows Multiple – Distributorship to one product.

Cheers

You can keep saying I’m wrong but that doesn’t mean I am.

You don’t seem to have all the information because if you did you would know there was a legal case between Ford and Al Wazzan.

Hi Mark

Cheers

I replied to that specific statement of yours that reads as below,

“The legal battles with Ford were already fought and the outcome is the dealership swapping hands”

This is a wrong statement and you have to agree that. Also you cannot even make an attempt to prove that because that is just an assumption.

A famous quote says,

“Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won’t come in.”

Cheers again

How this will benefit us the customers ?

Generally, a prominent dealer will always sell the product in a higher price. Also their NASA-Trained marketing team will spend heavily on marketing tactics and the customer pays for that.

Fancy terms often used by Car sellers like
‘Auto buying experience’,
‘Service visit experience’
does any of that truly makes any meaningful difference to the customer? Instead all these sweet terms dents his pocket.

“Car buying experience” in Kuwait ends within an hour for the customer.

“Recurring Service Visit experience” is always a pain.

At this era, why can’t they service our cars at our homes?
That is the best experience that saves time and effort.

In short, having multiple dealers is a blessing.

But having an exclusive PROMINENT dealer will cost us more. We will end up in a new ‘Sad Spending Experience’.

We will pay heavily for enjoying the ‘EXPERIENCES’ they offer.
In business, nothing comes for free.

Hey Mark the new gossip now is that Alghanim is after MERCEDES as well.

Lets see what the future brings…..

Hey people it’s funny how everybody is concerned about ford 😉 makes me feel that you all have shares in the company 😉

Ok here the news, official Alghanim is the new dealer for Ford in Kuwait and I think the first car we will be launched mid of may or June.

With Regards to the dealership Ford international has handed over the rights for Alghanim to become the main agent in Kuwait and the agreement is official however according to internal news that Alwazan group are trying to fight for it locally.

So it a matter of few weeks and the case will be clear again.

Yes there is an update as I have informed you earlier. Alghanim is the official ford dealer in Kuwait now in few weeks the showroom is gonna open soon.

Can someone explain to me what is happening with Ford. They are fighting through the local newspapers but their customers are confused to know exactly who to follow. This has to stop and the court should solve this issue from a legal perspective.
