Download All the Kuwait Traffic Laws as a PDF

police

A friend of mine read my post from yesterday and sent me the link below this morning that is basically a list of all the Kuwait traffic laws in English. I went through the list to see if there was anything mentioning car lifts but didn’t find anything about it. But, there are a lot of laws that are too generic and could mean anything and I’m willing to bet because of that, everyone here is breaking at least one law from this list. If you want to view or download the PDF, click [Here]

Thanks Musaed

Nice follow up post to your story! Thank you for this one!
I think many of us expats have been wondering about this and are looking to abide by the law.

Just because you didn’t find anything about car lifts specifically doesn’t mean that some relevant laws don’t apply. A cursory examination of the laws brings up the following:

55 35052: Violation of transport vehicles of height conditions.
67 35069: Driving a vehicle with invalid tires.
70 35073: Using unlicensed horns or any other applications.
97 35154: Changing the vehicle using purpose without the
approval of traffic department.
99 35156: Exchange of an essential part of the vehicle without
approval from the traffic department.
121 39011: Adding extra parts to the main vehicle parts.
122 39012: Connecting the vehicle chassis.
124 43011: Tires appearing out of the vehicle body.
153 52011: Fitting supplements (extra parts).

I can see most of these laws being reasonably applied to those with lifts. I’m not saying it makes sense or is fair, I also have a modest lift on my truck which has passed inspections, so it seems like Kuwait actually has laws that are, for the most part, clear (on paper). Actual enforcement, however, is another issue entirely.

On another note, if a police officer tries to stop you, you might as well just try running away, as the punishment for “Running away from the Police Patrol” (198 13611) is a mere KD 15 fine with no jail time.

Yeah I agree this is why I mentioned in my post that some of the laws are too generic, cuz they could be applied to me or anyone as well. And damn wtf? I’d be willing to pay KD100+ easily to try and getaway from the cops in a game of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit!

#55 > I’m not a transport vehicle
#67 > I’m using road legal tires
#70 > I haven’t modified my horn
#97 > I haven’t changed the use of my vehicle (for example turn it into a cab)
#99 > hmmm this one is tricky, what is considered essential
#121 > This one as well is too generic, what is a main vehicle part?
#122 > No idea what this even means
#124 > My tires don’t stick out
#153 > This one as well is too generic, what is considered an extra part and how is this law different from #121

After skimming through it, I still didn’t manage to find anything regarding “number of points and reconciliation order”.

Any clue how to find out how many points I got and what does it mean if I exceed the limit?
And wth is reconciliation order?
Cheers

I think because kuwait has civil laws instead of common laws it kinda means each law enforcer or law maker or any one with a power to admit law or so can interpret the law in any way they wish, i think its because the laws arent clear. I think thats how it is any ways lol

No. 243: Wearing the veil while driving – 15kd

hahahaha

Do they mean the niquab or a ski mask in case you wanna attempt a robbery…

Speed camera fines is it updated weekly or monthly
I have doubt that violate speed exceed
It’s been 20 days still not show any fine
I want to know how many days they will check camera record

Hello,
Got a ticket a week ago, for in Arabic لصق باقه، و بتوين،
Can anyone help me what my fines would be? Excuse my Arabic it might misspelled. Also can I provide my Canadian license when I get pulled over?

I was recently fined for just stopping by a commercial complex to drop my pregnant wife of 9 months as she could not walk long distance. I had switched on 4 signal blinkers and there was no signboard restricting stoppage of cars, in fact there were cars standing same as mine without drivers in them. Yet cop chose to issue a traffic fine to me and confiscate my driving license. In spite of pleading to him that I am in no fault and even if I agree to pay the fine not to take away my license as my wife is pregnant and I need to drive in emergency. I just wonder is this policeman trained to be heartless. Finally when I looked at the traffic fine invoice, it read “obstruction of traffic” !! wow I had not bothered a single vehicle.

This is actually a list of traffic fines, which is an extract from the Traffic Laws, which are 170 pages. So unfortunately the title is a bit misleading.
