Mercedes G63 6×6 Stuck on the Beach

Not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that the KD175,000 G63 6×6 (pictured below) got stuck on the beach, or the fact that 60 of these cars were made and we have around 7 of them in Kuwait. [YouTube]

I am sure these Kuwaitis who own such expensive cars have earned them. They worked very hard in their lives, become very successful and now they’re enjoying the fruit of their success.

If only they write autobiography on how they became really successful and wealthy.

LOL

they are really successful on spending their family wealth as they aren’t the one who worked for it
neither their parents who stole every freakin dinar that comes from Kuwaiti petrol

so my grandfather stole it by starting a business selling caravans. what an idiot..
jealous people..

it has a flat tire .its not due to the Technic they use to drive on sand , just look at the front tire . while other tires are fully inflated.

1. Another idiot with VVS*
2. The tire is not flat, it is intentionally softened for sand driving
3. How do we know for certain 7 of these are in Kuwait?

*Vertical Video Sydrome

the front left tire is almost flat while other tires are fully inflated
on sand u will soften all the tires, not just one

He who doesn’t know the falcon , make it KFC .
بالعربي: اللي مايعرف الصقر، يشويه

obviously the dude doesnt know how to drive Im sure you have seen the Top Gear show about the same car in the UAE desert in the middle of the really soft sand dunes…..

Even if the guy was a horrible driver, the car shouldn’t get stuck. I mean it’s supposed to be just too good.

True.. if certainly looks like a mechanical failure, or else once out of the sand the 6×6 would have moved forward on its own. But the video clearly shows the tractor still pulling it forward

The owner might think right now , why the hell didn’t I just get 8 Land Cruisers for this money.

On a side note , this is bad press for Mercedes if they still have more of this at stock. Seems over rated after seeing this video.

Goes to show you that throwing more money at something does not necessarily make it better. Well, except for bank accounts of course. And open flames. Mustn’t forget open flames…

the Batrol would rape that benzes ass.
Batrols and Lcs eat those dunes for breakfast.
My Emiratis homies could vouch for that yes?

Boom.

Welcome to Kuwait
Where we prove that German mechanicals aren’t flawless.

I’m actually betting that Germans are intentionally sending stuff for us to abuse and break so they can build bigger\better machines. Something like “BAGGER 288!”

You don’t need Kuwait to prove that. Germans aren’t reliable anywhere. When was the last time you heard of any German brand other than Porsche in the top 6 reliability surveys.

German brands, while not completely bulletproof, have come a long way since the days of the Audi 80 and E39 5 series (Which by the way, if properly taken care of, can last a lifetime), the problem isn’t ALWAYS on the manufacturers end but rather the consumers end, we here in Kuwait don’t take care of cars the way they are meant to be taken care of.

The perfect car in the eye of the average arab or asian person; must be fast, must be cheap, must be ultra-luxurious, must never break down, must do a million miles to the gallon, must have paint that will not fade away in scorching heat, and all the other impossibles, and surprise surprise, such a vehicle does not exist.

I’ve owned a Volkswagen Touareg V6 for over 5 years now, 175k on the clock (I plan to drive it for as long as I possibly can), and apart from the usual wear and tear, it has never once gone wrong, where as most Touareg owners I’ve ever come across loathe their cars, claiming its highly unreliable, well guess what?, if you treat your car they way you treat your house maids, they are surely going to show you the middle finger.

if, like me, you are an enthusiast, you will know that no car drives the way a european car does, lexus is about as intriguing to drive as a dentist and a cadillac will start to lose its interior trim pieces faster than Lindsay Lohan loses her dignity, of which she has countless number of times, but is not the point, the point is that you treat your car with respect, park it appropriately, detail it once ever couple of months, and only do dealer maintenance, a european car will never go wrong, with the exception of few brands, sans Alfa, Jaguar, Maserati.

If you can’t afford to run a european car, then don’t buy one, simple!

Well said, but not entirely correct. A luxury car does exist coming close to the below characteristics and that’s Lexus. To an Extent even Porsche can achieve it if maintained well.

I agree with you completely when you say that a car should be treated very well so that it does not break down on you. But note that no matter how well you treat the German car’s like Mercedes , Audi and BMW they will start going wrong around 40,000 Km or more. I have first hand experience ( BMW & Merc ) with these car’s and will be a testament to it. There is nothing as reliable as Japanese car’s in this century and that’s a big feat achieved by Lexus.

It’s also not true that Lexus is bad to drive anymore , the new Lexus can hold their own against the germans but the same can not be said about German car’s reliabilities. Same can be said about Cadillac as well, Cadillac have come a long way in terms of interior quality and driver ownership and are doing very well with all the free service packages they offer to give customers a peace of mind in case of any failure.

I agree if you can not afford to maintain a German / luxury car do not buy it in the first place but there definitely is no excuse for German auto manufacturers to sell us cars that breakdown anymore , definitely not in this century.
