Plasti Dip Touch Up

plastidip1

Last month I posted about how I chose to Plasti Dip some of my car parts in matt black. Plasti Dip is a non-permanent paint job that can be peeled off whenever you want. Well last week I parked my car for dinner and when I got back I noticed another car had scraped my bumper peeling some of the Plasti Dip off. So I headed back to MA-FRA to get a touch up thinking it would be a time consuming job but surprisingly it ended up taking less than 15 minutes to fix. The employee used a bit of thinner at first to smoothen out the rips in the paint and then when he was done he sprayed a few layers of Plasti Dip to cover up the rips.

I’ve posted the before and after pictures here and as you can see it looks new again. I’m actually considering buying a can of Plasti Dip so I can just do it myself next time since it seemed fairly easy. I’m now definitely convinced Plasti Dip was a better option for me over foiling.

As long as only parts of the car are dipped, and not the entire car, it is ok. From what I know, even if you dip it in complete matte black, you;ll have to change the color in the registration to “matte black”.

As far as I know they just mention color in registration without matte or metallic. I think if color is just “black” or “white” in your registration and you paint it with same matte color it wont be problem.

I know a guy who has got the American brand of Plasti-Dip and is looking for a dealer here in kuwait. I think you should be able to get wholesale rate.

I have plasti-Dip on my go-pro camera and it looks sick.

Hit and run not only for people but also very common on cars. My car got hit many times but not even one of the drivers left a number or took responsibility. I just got my car out of the garage after the rear bumper got totally damaged by some inhuman creature.
