Salhiya Valet Crashes Porsche

valet1

I have no idea how this happened but somehow a valet driver at Salhiya managed to crash a Porsche hard into a pillar inside their underground parking lot. Hopefully the valet driver is fine but damn wtf?

The rule #1 with valet parking: If you really care about your car, don’t hand it to someone else.

specially in Salhiya, you can find parking within 5 min max, if there is no parking in B1, B2 is almost always empty.

I believe salhiya valet has parked way too many car to cause this an outrageous action, with the odds it meant to happen.

On the other hand, Imagine if this car was bought by someone who took a 15 years loan and their insurance ran a week ago.

Insurance would pay even if it’s the valet, don’t let insurance companies fool you. if the car is insured.

The real question is, did they pay the 2 KD for the valet?

“The rule #1 with valet parking: If you really care about your car, don’t hand it to someone else.”

True! Just stand in any parking area with valet parking option and you will see how they care about cars. They never slow down on bumps, I even had seen they even accelerate car when they see bumps.

Problem is with building owners and parking companies. They hire extremely unprofessional staff with very low salaries. Most of valet drivers don’t have driving license even from their own country and they never had driven even cheapest Toyota Yaris before they got this job. Imagine person who never drive any super car and he didn’t had any training how to drive them. Now imagine this kind of guy driving Porsche first time in his life. He has no idea how to accelerate, how to steer or how to handle this type of cars in general (especially in creepy underground parkings in Kuwait where sometimes for even owner is hard to drive his own car).

Airbags are out ! Feel bad for the car owner! I think the car owner should ask for compensation from the valet company and file a case for hiring such irresponsible drivers.

I have stopped going valet once they stole all the coins and my shades from the car! Why should we risk our 20-30k worth car for just 2 bucks that also with a stranger !

I hope the valet is alright. It’s unnerving to think of the possible repercussions for him; job loss or deportation, just to name a few.

On the bright side, maybe some spoiled Kuwaitis will finally think twice about hiring strangers to do things they should do themselves (parking cars, caring for their own children, etc).

what they need to do is remove the valet parking option at arabella. that would solve the whole traffic issue in bida’a since right now the traffic is because of valet.

There is an explanation for everything. A single human life is worth more than all the Porsches in the world. He could have had a seizure or heart attack. He could have had dizziness of working long hours or may perhaps be working on empty stomach.
It could also be a simple mistake of hitting accelerator instead of brake, it happened with me once. It’s not wtf,it’s just life.

The driver had a drastic blood pressure drop and now he’s in a coma. It wasn’t his fault. The valet service are going to buy the owner a 2015 version of the model that was wrecked.

Maybe his blood pressure dropped after the accident. Its all a cover up. And you think its that easy to buy another expensive car like that!?

Always been curious. Whatever happens when the valvet damages your car? Ofcourse besides the driver losing his job .how does the car owner gets total compensation for the repairs ? Considering it’s not full insurance? It would be absurd paying even a penny out of your own pockets.

I can guess (given the shiny state of the tires, and the reflection of what looks like water/moisture) that the car might have been spinning the rear wheels (in the moisture) and then suddenly got traction and the driver simply had no chance.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine (also in a Porsche) and I was in the passenger seat at the u-turn at the end of ibn khaldoun street and 40. The car was moving very slowly but the wheels were spinning in the moisture.

Luckily my friend had the car for a while and managed to bring it back into control (not without causing a wee bit of pee to come out when the wheels finally caught tarmac).

Given the rate of impact considering the damage I can only guess something similar happened here as that surface is extremely slippery on good days.

i was there when this happened, the valet driver actually passed out while driving the car which cause the crash.. guys .. don’t judge before you know what happened πŸ™‚

I never give my car to valet ! Why would I do that unless it’s so urgent ? These are main reasons why :

– Risks for accidents or car scratches.
– Driver’s hand might be dirty
– Car sometimes can smell bad with some valet drivers
– Sometimes they take forever to get it back. There might be like 30-40 cars with like only 4 drivers !

Apparently the valet driver had a severe drop in blood pressure and he’s in a coma. I hope he feels better and gets out of this in good health. Also apparently, the valet company will completely replace the car for the owner.

I’m not 100% sure of this, but this is the word that’s going around.

Why replace? Just send it to the garage for repairs. It makes no sense to buy him a new car if it can be repaired at the garage/dealer.

Would you like to buy a car?

It’s been crashed a few times but it’s been repaired. I display many of the cars I have for sale outside police stations across Kuwait if you would like to browse.

Apparently he had a heart attack from crashing such expensive car that would take him all his life to pay it back!! Poor fella

ummm it’s kinda sad that the comments only seem to care about cars. disgusting. i hope the guy is ok. i’m sure it was a mistake and not a death wish.

I am a frequent visitor to the Salhiya Shopping Centre and I always see the Valet Drivers speeding in high end cars like Cayenne, Range Rover etc. They even have the urgency not to stop at speed bumps and go over them at 50 km/h speeds in the basement parking area.
