survey

If you haven’t taken the survey yet I’d really appreciate it if you do. I’m hoping to close the survey tomorrow so I can spend the weekend going through all the feedback and comments so I can start planning for 2016. It short, it takes two minutes and every feedback counts. Here is the [Link]

Hey! Mark:

Missed the bus doing the survey. But in general this is what I ‘d like to see you feature more of on this blog:

1) Interview of the Month. Besides what’s on your mind you could invite reader questions and/ or feedback. Typically, the featured guest should be someone with an interesting personality and a zest for living. You could take your pick from a film maker, captain of the industry, sculptor, graffiti artist, innovator/ creator, foreign envoy or their spouse( sometimes they can be more interesting than their other halts), restauranteur, adventure sport enthusiast, doctor, architect or someone
anyone who does things borderline bohemian or goes against the grain pursuing what or she is
most passionate about doing in Life.

2) Invite a film critic the likes of Ms. Nasreen Zuhair to critique world cinema- one film every fortnight whether or not the film has opened at a space in Kuwait. With Amazon and Netflix that’s hardly going to be an issue anymore.

3) Previous to now we’ve seen you doing travelogues featuring mostly, Europe and the Levant. Perhaps now is when you could switch gears to doing Africa and Asia, including Australia and New Zealand. Are the airline companies & travel agents listening.

4) For a lot of us Arabic language deprived readers, we are bereft of any exposure to the Arabic media. Would it perhaps be possible to cover the best of the Arab press in terms of op-ed snippets, full length feature articles and what you thought interesting and worthy of sharing from blogs in Arabic, with their translation into English?

5) Likewise, a monthly quiz on life and happenings in Kuwait and the Mideast will infuse a whiff of fresh air and you don’t necessarily have to confine this to the political arena. Pepper it with a lot of fun trivia.

6) Recipe of the week borrowing on world cuisine with a focus on the various ethnic diasporas there are, resident in Kuwait would be welcome. For one thing, I have been itching for a good &
authentic Ethiopian and Sri Lankan eatery in Kuwait.

7) A Mark-style oeuvre into trending patterns on technology, gadgetry, men’s fashion, food, horology and yes, maybe even an agony aunt column. Only in your case, it will be an Agony ( Uncle) Mark column on relationships, warts and all etc.

Cheerio from the Man who knew too little.
