Pop-up Issue

Just a quick note, there seems to be an issue with my blog at the moment where some readers on Android devices are reporting pop-ups. Not sure how and why its happening but I’m working on fixing it. In the meantime, if you get a pop-up asking you to download flash or whatever, do not download it please. Sorry about this!

Update: The issue should be resolved now (thanks Burhan!)

i can’t seem to replicate it myself, if anyone can let me know whats the url address of the file they’re asking to download i’d appreciate that since the company Sucuri are trying to solve this issue but they can’t seem to find anything.

OK here goes. Yes it comes up everytime until you click on install. When you do, a ‘nice’ screen pops up telling you how to enable the ‘install from unknown sources’ option while the apk downloads in the background and then chrome asks you to open it. Of course I deleted it, thanks to the msg from one of your users a few days back.

After this, the popup does not appear again. However I kept trying other things given you needed the url to fix this and finally got it!

The issue is no one will see your warning as the popup takes almost the whole page up with no option to dismiss it. Hope no one fell victim to this in the interim.

Please fix and you can thank us all later.

Mark, please run your site through clouflare. That will resolve some of these issues and keep your site safer. I ran through my server and it caught it. It’s a DDoS agent

It keeps coming up for me on windows PC/Chrome browser every time i refresh, i had to stop loading the web page manually so i can continue reading.

So…I downloaded it and started the installation. I was uninstalling a bunch of programs today so I thought I had uninstalled adobe flash by accident.

What can I do to ensure that it’s been thoroughly erased // check for any damage it might have done?

for me it was asking to install flash? .last two days.. was there some redirect from your website going to adobe? or maybe you have any flash ads? or one of your plugin got hijacked by some hacker…

Mark, great to see the site back up. Can I ask 1) how did they hack your server and inject stuff into get your code, 2) What have you done to prevent it from happening again
