Thanks to the help of some readers I managed to create my own customized survey for the blog. Basically I currently have no idea who reads this blog, what issues you might have with the blog and what you expect from my blog for the coming period. So, I created a survey that will help me improve things.
The survey is short and should take you around 2 or 3 minutes to complete. Please take the survey and help me make this blog a better place.
[Click here to take the survey]
Thanks!
Update: The response has been really great and some of you have been leaving a lot of interesting comments and feedback. Once I take down the survey and collect the results I will most probably dedicate another post answering some of the concerns that have been brought up through the survey. If you still haven’t taken the survey please do.
Update2: So far over 750 of you have participated in the survey. I was expecting originally to get only 200-300 participants this is really great. My limit actually is a thousand so in less than 24 hours we’re already nearly there. Thanks!
Update3: The survey is now closed since I exceeded my 1,000 submission limit. For everyone who took part thank you again!

and done. not sure what your going to do with all that info, but enjoy.
well the answers will help me decide what to do with the blog. for example if the majority of the people don’t use the categories in the sidebar, then i might as well use that space for something else.
I just noticed the sidebar after reading the survey. I thought it was a trick question where you had to answer huh?, or else your not reading the questions and just clicking random answers.
“Do you see 248am as a credible source”
Should include a “Sometimes” option for that.
I use an app on the iPhone to see your blog there is no side bar I think!
Just want to let you know #6 you ask current occupation status.. im unemployed and i check that.. then at #8 you say monthly income.. but im unemployed therefore theres no income.. so maybe you wana add an option for that..
🙂
to make this survey accurate (and ultimately helpful towards your blog research) you might consider adding an ‘other’ option to questions such as favorite blog, magazine, etc
let us know the results, that would be an interesting entry.
btw, my all time favorite blog entry on this blog was the Water research and findings. Love it.
Also for favorite blogs you should have an other option. Ma6goog.com o bas wil baji khas
done, I like answering surveys.. 🙂
don’t u think it will be a good idea to add: hoow many times do u visit the blog per day?. I think, this might give u an idea on how much u need to post everyday!
Just noticed, 248am has reached No.2 position in my Google chrome after Amazon. I’m getting addicted.
you should have given away prizes too!! for completing the survey
i thought about that but figured people would keep taking the survey under different names and the results wouldn’t be as reliable as they are now.
done…its a shame tho ur survey couldve been done in a soooooo much better way and u wouldve harvested so much useful information..oh well
Enlighten him Spartacus
well for one thing, surveymonkey.com has the option of allowing the survey taker to take the survey once per IP address. this will prevent survey takers from taking the survey more than once which increases the reliability of the results.
spartan that option is already active.
excellent
But again, depends on from where the survey was taken as most corporate firewalls give the same IP for all the users under its network. I tried the survey a second time now in the same browser it did not allow me (survey had placed a cookie). But in another browser, i could. A different PC also allows me once per browser. All of us in the office have the same external IP given by the firewall so there may be duplicates.
yeah its not meant to deter people from submitting the survey more than once. There isn’t anything to gain by submitting the survey more than once as well. It places a cookie so that you know you’ve completed the survey if you try to take it again.
