Edges Apartment

edges

A couple of readers sent me a link to a feature on Dezeen, the world’s most popular and influential architecture and design magazine on a new apartment building in Salmiya. The building pictured above looks very cool but I can’t figure out where in Salmiya it is. If anyone has an idea let me know but for now check out the write up on the building and more photos [Here]

Hopefully this is a start to more tasteful looking residential towers in Kuwait.

Update: Apartment building is located behind AUK and rent start from KD450 upwards (that was a few months back)

Dear Mark. First of all thanks for featuring our building. It’s quite an honor. It was designed by Studio Toggle, a local design collaborative. The location is quite accessible. It’s on Abdulla Bin Masoud street in Salmiya block 2. Right behind the AUK and in front of the Manarat School. Let me know when you pass by I could show you the building.

Great fan of yours and your Kuwaiti partners work! Loved the station rendition!!

Please do more aesthetic designs.. Brilliant!

My daughter architect Hend Aslan Al-Matrouk and partner Architect Gijo ( Studio Toggle ) who design this building.

Dear Mr. Aslan Al Matrouk, for years I have tried to find back contact to Hend! She was my classmate in Spain – Marbella Design Academy back in summer 2008 or 2009 (I do not remember exactly). Please, if by any chance you find this message, contact me back! Hend was a dear friend of mine, and I would love to gain contact back again!

Very tasteful building and a great addition to Salmiya. I totally agree with you in the hopes that this spurs the construction of more attractive residential blocks across the country.

The one big caveat I have with this tower though is the parking – or rather, the lack of it. So many buildings in Salmiya, Jabriya, Hawalli and other areas only have surface lots in front of the building and those tend to fill up very quickly, so imagine what it’s like when guests and visitors come over and park on street sides and choke up traffic. How hard is it to build a few floors of underground parking for these towers?

I was about this parking issue, I and I didn’t see any access to underground parking except surface (only 6 spots)

I went to see the apartment . It was beautiful building but there is no one in charge there
Only harris was there .

Anyone has contact information with landlord ?

Thanks
