Silkscreen printing supplies

silk1

This is just a quick post for anyone that’s interested in silkscreen printing. I found a small place in Shuwaikh that sells pre-stretched aluminum screens in various sizes along with squeegees and silkscreen ink.

The prices are pretty reasonable, I picked up a small sized screen with a squeegee for KD11. The screen alone was KD7 which is a bit cheaper than the KD7.5 I paid for my wooden screen of similar size which I had purchased from Dasman Complex. The inks cost KD5 per color but each can will probably last you forever since you only need such a small amount to print. They also had metalic colors like gold and silver but I think they were for KD12.5.

The store is called Bin Naji and their phone number is 24929993/4. They’re located next to the Shuwaikh police station and here it is on [Google Maps]

Update: This place has moved. The new location is here. Also there is a second silkscreen supplies and printing place down the street from it called Fine Arts. Here is the location for it.

That’s so good! I had to buy all those things for my course in Australia and everything was double if not triple the prices listed here.

This is a bit off topic, but does anyone know where I can frame a football jersey? I have a signed football jersey that’s hidden in my cupboard, and I have no idea where to go to frame it.

Hmmm this is weird.. Was just at Bin Naji and suddenly all the prices seem to have doubled from the prices listed here.. Screens are now 14Kd and normal paint is 10kd didn’t even bother asking about the metallic colors.

Yeah I got a pre-stretched wooden frame for 7.5KD but the place didn’t have a squeegee nor the correct inks. The squeegee at Bin Naji was also too big for it which is why I bought another screen from there. Then I found a screen at Mogahwi with a squeegee that would fit my first wooden screen and bought that as well. The box was missing a lot of items, looks like it was from the 80s or 90s so got it for a good deal. It was last piece as well. So yes I have 3 screens now and 2 squeegees.

Was just at Jarir Bookstore and they seemed to have pretty much everything I needed! I got an A4 size screen KD7.5. They had 2 types of speedball squeegees, photo emulsion kit and a small selection of Colors all very reasonably priced! I also noticed they had some replacement screens which was pretty cool!

I worked whith printing screen machines about 20 years, printing plastic bottles, cups and others. I am looking someone in kuwait in area injection pastic that need whom operate silk sreen machines.
