You guys seriously think the official Prada or Gucci dealers are selling fakes? Stop fucking believing everything you get on your BBM’s. Geez!

No they weren’t. This is why the government is thinking of banning Blackberrys, because people fall for anything here. No one takes 10 seconds to think. You expect D&G, Gucci and Prada to team up and agree that in Kuwait they would sell fake goods? What reason would the three big designer brands have to take such a humongous risk and sell fake goods in Kuwait? Especially in Kuwait I have to add, a market that is heavily exposed and educated on high end brands.

Secondly if they ever were caught selling fake goods don’t you think there would have been consequences?

I’m sure I read it in the newspaper.you know in this country I wouldn’t be surprised some manager with a ‘tip’ WOULD get an order in on the sly from China, take a cut and pretend it came from the originals. I think it was the Villa Moda in Al Koot that got done.

Villamoda is 70% owned By Dubai. Is Dubai selling fakes now as well? These are ridiculous rumors made up by people who don’t know any better.

come on guys it’s not fake, maybe expensive yes even if they have 50% off the prices are way higher then it suppose to be comparing to the rates in europe but it’s not fake.. Mark did you go? is there something nice or the same as last time only ugly stuff where on sale?

i just wear tshirts and jeans so don’t really shop designer brands. but their prices in kuwait are not more expensive than europe or the US. They’re similar. Prices of these items are kind of universal, its the exchange rate and different discounts that varies them.

never ever buy from villa moda .. ya jma3a try to imagine if u bought a new shoes 200 kd o later the same shoe half price.

Just went today and I was disappointed!
They didn’t receive the summer collection yet so it’s just a pointless sale.. Only old collections from last winter which was already on sale last February( I guess) and last year’s summer collection, are on sale!
Every year Villa Moda does sale on new summer collection in June way ahead of Europe were they start in July.. No idea what is wrong this time..
My only guess would be they won’t release their new summer collection until they open their new boutiques at 360.

After Sheikh Majed quit Villa Moda, things went downhill! The new owners (Sheikh Majed still owns 30% though) are so stingy that they didn’t order Summer 2010’s collection, which should have been on racks since January or February. They’re basically selling things from S/S 09 and A/W 09. There’s NOTHING from S/S 10. I hate those who claim that the stuff are “fake.” Get a life people. I’m very disappointed with how the management is handling the store though. They ought to step it up!

Nat & Mark, Please keep us updated with Villa Moda’s sale, specially the grand one with the 90% discount .. your blog is my outsource.

Yaso: I usually prefer not to post about the 90% sales since by the time these sales happen most of the nice stuff are already sold from the 50% sale and whats left really isn’t that great

I think the press should be more accountable, definitely read in the Arab Times about the fake story. You can’t blame people for believing news stories, if the press are lying to us, what to do?
If anyone has a link to that Arab Times story last year I’d love to read it, just to prove to myslf I’m not going mad!

I just searched the Arab Times archive. There is no mention of anything like that.

In any case it doesn’t take a genius to know that if anyone was caught selling counterfeit goods they would have had the brand license withdrawn from them instantly. That is unless you think there is a bigger conspiracy here and that brands like Prada and Gucci sell counterfeit goods worldwide as a way to increase their profits…

Teacher isn’t the sharpest knive in the drawer. As I recall, she also believes that the Bermuda Triangle is the cause of airplane crashs in South Atlantic Ocean between Brasil and France. She thinks that Bermuda lies off the coast of South America, somewhere near Brazil. So it’s not surprsing she would believe BBM rumors.

It’s a shame she’s a teacher! Poor Students!

I don’t have a BB and was only recalling what I read last year in the paper- I don’t care if Villa Moda sell knock offs or not.

BTW- what DID cause the plane crashes in the Atlantic all those years ago?Any insight much appreciated.

Narrow minded and immature people who believe the rubbish about Villa Moda. When the CEO of Prada visited Villa Moda in May you think he asked why his store was selling fakes?
