Al-Antabli

So I’m in Lebanon right now and I’ve kinda left my diet back in Kuwait. Yesterday for example I passed by a place in Tabarja (an area near Casino Du Liban) and had some amazing dessert at a place called Al-Antabli. If you’re a calorie counter this is NOT the place for you. Seriously. You have to come in with the understanding that everything you will eat is fattening like crazy. Personally I started off with Halawet El Jeben and followed it with a Ousmalieh. I downed everything with a large jug of jaleb and ended with a delicious scoop of Ashta ice-cream. Amazing stuff. Everything is pictured below in the order listed above.

After 15 years with a Lebanese, I still don’t like Arabic sweets. Even the French sweets aren’t the same! Find a dessert place in Lebanon fir us expats please!!!!

Agreed, I can’t stand “Arabic” sweets (although in reality they are all Turkish not Arabic). Who the hell puts cheese in desserts?

everybody puts cheese in their desert.cheese is dairy. dairy is in all sweets in the form of milk, cream, yogurt, cheese(cream cheese frosting on cupcakes, American cheesecakes, Italian tiramisu’s main ingredient is cheese (mascarpone), indian rasmalai, arabic kunafa with cheese. Mexican cheese sopapila. so basically all regions use cheese in their deserts.

I love cheesecake but where can you get a good one from here? Also love sugar & spice cakes but they are too expensive. I dont want to mention names, but there’s a great cookie place in avenues but also expensive! I at least find them here but can’t find the right ones in Lebanon. Have gone into sea sweets, my eyes got hungry but was let down with the taste! I guess it’s because the tourists that go to Lebanon are mostly Arabs or Lebanese living abroad so not a big demand for western sweets!

Loved the سويت اند جوس written on the tissues ;p

Although I don’t eat/drink any of those but the looked delicious!

Antabli has the Best Jallab ever… They have a very old and famous little place in Marelias St. – Beirut near my home.
