Caliburger opening April 1st

Caliburger, the burger chain from South California will be opening five locations in the Middle East next year, the first in Bahrain in February followed by Kuwait in April and then Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Erbil (Iraq). From all the locations Erbil is probably the best idea while Kuwait is the worst. Unless it’s a huge name like In-N-Out or Wendy’s, we have too many burger franchises here as it is already. [Source]

Erbil is almost a completely different country from the rest of Iraq. The Kurdish controlled parts of Iraq are much safer, attracting a lot more investment, and are more or less autonomous. It’s also a big argument for the eventual formation of Kurdistan from the predominantly Kurdish areas of Iraq, Syria, and Turkey.

Oh also they have their own airport and even more lenient visa restrictions. They are really setting it up to easily split off into its own thing.

You should try the secret menu, it’s worth a try. In n out is everywhere here depending where you are in this state.

Hmm never heard of them before in California..

Their LA branch says “coming soon” and their first branch was in Hong Kong so I don’t see how its a burger chain from South California..

“CaliBurger was established by a passionate group of entrepreneurs from
California who set out to bring the finest and freshest “Cali” inspired burgers
and chicken sandwiches to the rest of the world. “

As a Cali resident I’ve never heard of it and as I read their information I see they just opened January 2012 and by the looks of their map
( https://caliburgerintl.com/about/locations/ ) they only have 1 location in Cali which is in LA (it says opening soon), the majority of their locations are in Asia.

“Still, CaliBurger has made some tweaks to the In-N-Out formula that even some Southern California die-hards might find an improvement on the original: booze and babes. [CaliBurger] serves California wine as well as vanilla shakes spiked with bourbon. And it’s mascots are leggy, mostly Western models “as golden as the California sun”

They will never compare to IN-N-OUT!

Yeah bring it:

“it’s mascots are leggy, mostly Western models “as golden as the California sun””

What’s next? Hooters?
