Since we’re on the subject of fried chicken this morning, my favorite chicken sandwich place, CHKN is now on Carriage along with Elevation Burger. CHKN was the only reason I installed and started using Talabat in the first place, so now that its on Carriage, I guess no more Talabat for me. Netflix, CHKN and DOH!, all day and all night!

I like carriage, but if delivery cost is 1/2 kd. I would order much more.

oh wait i see what u mean, the carriage delivery places its 1KD, but some places like CHKN who handle their own delivery the cost is 250fils

If you have tried ordering through carriage from restaurants that deliver themselves you will know it is one of the most frustrating experiences you can have.
There is a severe lag on the updates, the tracking consistently breaks down, and when it does work, its extra annoying when the driver makes a stop or two for deliveries before getting to you and you can see it happen on your phone (“why is it taking so long for him to move again” , “why did you deliver to them first when i’m closer”) LOL.
Admittedly most of my experience with this are from one restaurant so maybe its them and not carriage but its still annoying.
from what i am aware, there is no tracking for restaurants that deliver themselves which would explain the lack of updates. thats what customer support told me anyway. I’ll let you know how it goes when I order from CHKN next time, they have a central kitchen in salmiya but somehow manage to take over an hour to deliver to my place when i use talabat, i’ve actually canceled my order 3 times because they took over 1 hour and 20 mins. i need to move to a place even closer to their central kitchen i guess.
I think the delivery time is very dependent on ordering time. I live in Rumaithiya, and almost every time I order I don’t face a problem.
Actually delivery is the most pleasant thing with CHKN, always convenient.
their salmiya kitchen is located near blajat so might be easier to get to u then to get to me in old salmiya. i wish they used motorbikes instead of cars.
They deliver to Mangaf from Salmiya. Are you sure they dont have other kitchens?
they have a number of kitchens (i know of 2 at least), i’m just talking about their salmiya kitchen
I think they once told me they have a central kitchen in Qurain Markets, but i could be confusing them with another restaurant.
On a related note, when the location of a restaurant isn’t available or im not sure which branch i will be dealing with, i always make a point to call them and ask where exactly my food will be coming from to gauge whether the distance and time would put me off from ordering.

I live in Mangaf and my struggle with delivery discrimination is real 🙂 hardly any variety on Carriage — mostly burger joints that are already on talabat. I’m jealous of all the yummy options you get in Salmiya!
