Fish & Chips

fish and chips

A lot of you have been recommending a variety of restaurants for me to try out ranging from Thai, and Lebanese to Italian and American but no one even recommended a good Fish & Chips place! While walking around today I found a small cozy place where I had Fish & Chips for lunch.

The Sea Shell in Lisson Grove, London NW1.
Have been going there since i was i was 12 years old, my parents still go there to this day. It’s been renowned for at least 3 decades. Even the british royalty have known to have eaten there.

Fish and chips have separately been eaten for many years – though the potato was not introduced to Europe until the 17th century. The originally Sephardi dish Pescado frito, or deep-fried fish, came to the Netherlands and England with the Spanish and Portuguese Jews in the 17th and 18th centuries. The dish became popular in more widespread circles in London and the south-east in the middle of the 19th century (Charles Dickens mentions a “fried fish warehouse” in Oliver Twist) whilst in the north of England a trade in deep-fried “chipped” potatoes developed. It is unclear when and where these two trades were merged to become the fish and chip shop industry we know today. The first combined fish and chip shop was probably the one opened in London by Joseph Malin in 1860.

Hey dude.. try fish n chips from hard rock cafe.. the worst restaurant ever.. but there fish n chips is very good..
one more thing.. its off the menu

Sting..
Montpeliano is not next to Harrod’s, though it’s in the same road (brompton road). Montpeliano’s cafe is opposite Emporio armani. And behind Montpeliano CAFE are small streets that are called “mews”, where you will find Montpeliano RESTAURANT.
Trust me, i lived just a 5 min walk from there for over 15 years.

bag.. You must be a real connoisseur of fish&chips to agree with me. To tell you the truth, there’s nothing like eating fish&chips at a UK seaside, like brighton or Hastings where you are served the fish only a couple of hours after the fish was caught.
