I just got confirmation that Five Guys will be opening this coming Sunday (May 22nd). Their first location in Kuwait is in Al Tijaria Tower right across from Al Shaheed Park. If you don’t know where that is, here is a link to [Google Maps]

That’s what makes the location choice a bit odd.
Maybe we are looking at in the short term but the street could be up and coming considering all these restaurants opening up in alshaheed (around 8) and then you have the new phase 2 of alshaheed which will include a lot of activities aimed towards the younger crowd. It could end up being a smart move opening there.
You make a good point. I personally think that Five Guys will cause foot traffic to increase at AlTijaria.
The thing is, given the size of AlSayer Group, the expectation was for them to open it at a place with a high foot traffic like the Avenues, 360 or even Alhamra
Considering that shaheed park is surrounded by a fence, I doubt there will be much foot traffic and no proper crossings for pedestrians.
360 is near dead. Al Hamra even more so.

The burger market is saturated.. I think now it all depends on the quality of the ingredients more than anything else to survive in this niche
I really hope it’s better than the UAE branch I tried it last time I was there and it was very average people are just overrating it because it was very popular a few years back in the US.
