I spotted another street fair today in New York and this time I told myself if I found fried Oreo cookies I would try it. After a bit of a walk I found a kiosk that was making them, 1$ per cookie. I decided to order two.
The things I do for this blog. The fried Oreo cookies looked gross and very greasy. I told Nat these will probably be the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten. Guess what? They weren’t. In fact, they were really good and I actually ate both cookies. They tasted like the Lebanese awamat (fried doughnut balls) except with Oreo as their filling.
I leave New York tomorrow and get back to Kuwait so everything should go back to normal then. Basically a lot less food posts.

Mark, try and find deep-fried mars bars. you can find them in chinese restaurents and they come in either the ‘mini’ or large sizes. We have them here in Australia so I’m pretty sure with the US’ large asian population, you can find it there too. It’s a fried heart attack mate!
forget the deep fried Mars Bar . . . try the deep fried Kit Kat or the deep fried Snickers! As for the deep fried oreo . . . YUUUMMMMMMMYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
You sure are eating a lot at downtown NY
deep fried heart attack, the american have sure taken it to another lever deep frying everything they come across
You should also try to find a deep fried pizza. Sounds strange, but is delicious. You do need a bypass after eating it (although in your case you probably need a triple bypass just from this trip).
Sounds Scottish, since they are well known for frying food… candy bars, chocolates… you name it!
Head to Texas and try the chicken fried bacon!! Or better yet, the deep fried flavor infused butter!!

Have you tried deep fried coca cola?
Your audience demands it.
From wiki;
“Fried Coke is frozen Coca-Cola-flavored batter which is deep-fried and then topped with Coca-Cola syrup, whipped cream, cinnamon sugar, and a cherry. It was introduced by inventor Abel Gonzales, Jr., at the 2006 State Fair of Texas, where it won the title of “Most Creative” in the second annual judged competition among food vendors. It proved very popular in Texas, selling 10,000 cups in the first two weeks. In 2009, Fried Coke was featured on the Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. Fried Coke is estimated to have 830 Calories (3,500 kJ) per cup.”
