Smash Burger are opening a new location, this time it’s in Salmiya and down the street from AUK. They’re actually opening in the same location where Organica Fish & Chips used to be before they closed it down.

At least its not a new franchise opening. I tried em a few times in the past and always in the evening, burgers were nice and tasty. Last was 6 months or so ago.
Tried em with my son a few weeks ago for lunch. Their burgers were average compared to past experiences. Hope they pick up on their quality again.

I hope they do better than the other restaurant, it seems like those new buildings aren’t getting too much business.
They put restaurants in those buildings because they think that because it’s close to AUK they’ll get business from university students. Thing is, these restaurant lunch prices are usually around 3-5kd per person, but anyone can drive to “restaurant street,” which is 3 minutes away from AUK, and get a meal for around 1.500. Any uni student would opt for the cheaper meal. Unless these restaurants competitively compete price wise, they will keep closing down. Source: I’m a former AUK student who would rather get a 1.300 meal from McDonalds than get a 6.500 shrimp meal from Organica.
Sorry to be off topic, but where is the nearest Organica F&C location from AUK now?

Hey Mark, do you know anything about the new complexs they are currently building in Mahboula/ Abu Halifa and Mangaf areas? Levels, Light, the new one between Spoons and the 210 light and the Marina Crescent looking one in Mangaf?
